Sorry I had to get that off my chest...Ive been so frustrated over the years at EA's shooting engine and how simplistically '8 way directional' it has felt that I had to post this.


I mean you can be facing backwards looking at your own bench and take a quick shot on net that will magnetically find its way to the goalie or net,,,,try it!

Cant we see some level of shooting realism and dynamics along the lines of what you see in FIFA where its somewhat challenging to get off a clean and accurate shot on the net...at least some of the time??

Am I out of line here or do I have a point?

It takes the challenge and rewarding feeling out of getting a shot on goal when you can practically put one on net every time, even when your almost directly 180 degrees from it

There needs to be some subtle range of inaccuracy in shooting...not just hitting all 8 directions OR completely missing the net by 3 miles!

I couldn't agree more. It's one of the many ways EA is/has been geared torwards offense. Even with the shot accuracy at zero, the puck doesn't miss the net enough. The fact that you can shoot the puck with basically the same accuracy, no matter which way you are facing is ridiculous.

It's just like a domino's effect.

- People want offense and crushing hits
- Knowing this, how do you offer both to people? Simple!
- Make the puck gets to the net and in the net more often that it should be while people could get you laid at the same time
- Remember that a game online is 5 minutes, so having both the offense and crushing hits respected, the puck will always hit the net.

I like NHL 12 for one big reason. The AI offline is just smart enough so far that it prevent this game from beeing what it was with NHL 11 when you play lock, a piece of cr*p.

Now, saying that NHL 12 ressemble anything as what I watch on tv for 30 years and played for 22, would be pushing it really hard.

NHL 12 is what it is. A nice entertaining game played on ice, and made with things taken from hockey. The rest is up to you! :-)

Umm idk what your're talking about..cause I can't even hit the effin net when I'm 3 feet away from it lol
