HEADLINES:

SUNKEN FEELING: Utes falter for first time with embarrassing 31-21 loss to 5-7 Cal. Up 21-17 in the fourth quarter Utah gave up 15 un answered points. Utah was just 4 of 11 on third downs while Cal was 10 of 14. Cal also gained over 200 yards on the ground. Utah will face #1 Oregon in the conference Championship in two weeks.

12-0! #1 Oregon caps undefeated season with a dramatic come from behind win in the Civil War vs Oregon State. Down 35-31 with 41 seconds left Oregon quarterback J. Miller found receiver D. Bell in the back of the end zone on fourth down to go up 38-35. Oregon State would then fumble on the ensuing kickoff giving the Ducks the dramatic victory.

DOWNED! Badgers #5 Badgers fall victim to an unlikely Nebraska team (8-4) While Penn State kept their hopes for a conference championship alive by beating Iowa 45-21. Iowa had a chance to clinch a spot in the Big Ten title game but now fall into a three way tie with Nebraska and Michigan, the loss by Wisconsin now ties them and Penn State in the other division but the tie breaker goes to Wisconsin who defeated Penn state 31-13 earlier this season.

THE SURPRISING BLAZERS: The #3 Blazers are 12-0 and are playing as well as anybody in the Nation. The Blazers will play Houston in the conference usa championship game in Birmingham in two weeks. A win and the Blazers could very well find themselves in the BCS title game.

Still High!!! All is well in Fayetteville as the Razorbacks claimed the SEC West title by beating LSU 48-28. The Razorbacks will face off against defending conference champ South Carolina in the SEC championship who they beat earlier this year convincingly 45-17.

HEISMAN WATCH:

Pressure burst pipes but as we have witnessed the last few weeks it ruins seasons. Two weeks ago Fresno State was 9-0 and looking for respect, well they got disrespected with back to back losses to Nevada and Boise State. What about LSU? After a huge over the hump win over Alabama, the Tigers were #1 in the country but faltered the next two weeks and are now scrapping for a new years day bowl. The latest victim Utah. After losing Biletnikoff semi-finalist receiver W. Turner the Utes still beat Colorado 52-0, they squeaked by Oregon State 38-30 but then Cal exposed them reeling off 15 straight points in the fourth quarter. What Im saying is if your a contender pressure is gonna be with you week in and week out, the ones who dont answer to it and play there game will be the ones standing last.

BCS TOP 10:

  1. OREGON 12-0
  2. TCU 12-0
  3. UAB 12-0
  4. ALABAMA 10-2

  7. BAYLOR 10-1
  8. VIRGINIA TECH 10-2
  9. ARKANSAS 11-1
