Sony Google TV + MLB The Show = Huge Lag?
I bought a Sony Google TV about a week ago, and I of course hooked up my other Sony product, the PS3. While most games play nice, I can't hit to save my life in MLB The Show '11. I have read about input lag and I know how that works, but does anyone else have a workaround for this particular TV? You would think a Sony game, a Sony TV and a Sony gaming system could play nice together, but there is no "gaming mode" on the TV.Tags: None -

Re: Sony Google TV + MLB The Show = Huge Lag?
It would not matter if it was a Sony or a Samsung.
Unfortunately that TV is not the best for gaming. You can try and tweak the picture settings to turn off most of the processing effects, and it may help, but they did not put a "game mode" on that set thus you will get the input lag like most LCD TVs face.
You're best bet is to try different HDMI ports, and turning off most of the processing effects.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

I know Sony to Samsung doesn't matter, I just would think out of any company with TVs out Sony would be making sure they work with gaming systems. It would not matter if it was a Sony or a Samsung.

Also, what settings exactly should I tweak?Comment

Re: Sony Google TV + MLB The Show = Huge Lag?
What TV's are good when dealing with input lag? I'm looking for a 32inch becau
se I've been playing PS3 on a SDTV since the system came out. Would really like to get a TV with pretty much no input lag at all, especially with MW# coming out...is there a certain HDMI cord I need

Input Lag What is Input lag? Input lag is a delay from the moment your output device (PC, Game console, DVD, etc.) sends an image to your TV to when it is finally displayed on your screen to see. more info can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Input_lag It is generally accepted...
Typically LCD monitors for the PC are ideally the best for input lag since they have none of that post processing stuff TVs do for movie and tv watching picture quality...
Also "commercial displays" which are basically larger monitors are the best as well.
But that forum as TVs tested and listed that are the lowest in input lag latency. As well as mediocre ones, and ones not that good.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Sony Google TV + MLB The Show = Huge Lag?
i had the same problem with my 55in led samsung, but there is a setting in the menu under system, where you can put it on game mode and it says it accelerates the speed of video games running from a console to the tv. this stopped all the lag and plays perfect, it was almost unplayable because i could'nt hit but now its fine. hope this helpsComment
