    F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

How about an official impressions thread? I see bluengold34 has it already.

And for those of us without, here's a link to the game manual: http://cdn.steampowered.com/Manuals/...f?t=1316463313

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

I'm very eager to hear what others have to say. Especially bugs/glitches that were an issue last year or anything that would keep the races from playing out fair or on equal ground. The fuel sim issue was it for me last year.

I really want to fall in love with this game.

I find it easier to use the Kers system, then the DRS system on the controller.

Just for comparison, I have not seen this on the 360 at all.

Yes I do that. What improvements to career mode and handling with controller make it worth another $50 over playing last years version?

Re: F1: 2011 Impressions and Discussion

I'm picking my copy up tonight. I hear career mode has not been changed much. The only difference I've heard about reading and watching reviews is the questions asked by the reporters are a little bit better.

I hear the handling model caters to sim racers big time. This game is definitely geared toward the F1 base and we haven't had that since the Grand Prix game days on PC.

I'm most looking forward to the co-op championship. That should be really fun.

Just got home with my copy from game stop, jumped right into the career mode. Going to run a race and let you guys know how I feel from there.

First thing I noticed was the career screen is greatly improved. You have an office of sorts inside your teams trailer (For me, started with Force India). You have a computer screen with an email system that if you have played a codemasters game before, you will find again.

22 options for Helmet selections, sadly no country based helmets like last season, but some of the designs are downright awesome.

                      Now, onto the race.

Just finished up practice at Australia heading into qualifying now.

Forget everything about how the cars drove in 2010, the car feels WAY more alive in this game. I have been sliding all over the damn track and overdriving like a rookie. Going to have to go back to school on this one

Wait until you have a wet session. I love it. I really have not had too much time with it (school and work) but what I have played thus far I can't complain at all. KERS & DRS works awesome on the wheel for the 360.

Bob, maybe I will see you online tonight when I get out of work.

                            Just got mine for PS3.....

Driving is difficult. Expect to spend some time setting up your wheel and it's deadzone, etc as well as force feedback. Traction Control off? Yeah! It's tough and will spin you around. I'm still trying to figure out a setting for my pedals that allows for some throttle control.

Edit: Should also add..PS3 users got a patch...25mb's. No word on what, but not a surprise to see a release day patch.
