speaking of 'watered down', ps3 version of a demo will likely be watered down graphically again n this game. i bet there gonna be no cameramen on the sidelines on the ps3 version again lol

You can't call plays, but your AI teammates seem smarter, and passing looks to have improved. On the defensive side, whereas in 2K11 the CPU would sometimes ignore switch attempts, leading to someone being left wide open for a shot or dunk, switching on D appears to work fine all the time now. Of course, I'd need the retail version to find out for sure.
I do understand what people are saying, though. The demo starts to get a little too shallow after a while, since you can't even call for screens.Comment

I guess im tired of hearing that excuse for everything
No other company does this no matter what
Its cheap marketing IMO... its not wetting my appetite when the same people are telling me that not getting any videos was wetting my appetite
SMH... who else releases demos and leaves out all of their features and strips them down to the root for unknown reasons?Comment

Re: NBA 2k12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360) Later Today For PS3
exactly..people have to realize that when you start with a good foundation (in 2k11), you're not going to see huge leaps and huge differences in 2k12...
if there is any downside to making a great game like 2k11, it's that it's harder to blow people away with drastic improvements because there isn't as much to improve.
eventually 2k will reach a point where they've ironed out almost every possible issue with the game (which they are close to doing and which they will do if they continue with the work ethic they've shown)...at that point the game will reach a peak where the only thing left to add will be new rosters and new modes...(maybe more customization options to the animations). but in terms of gameplay, 2k is getting closer and closer to some type of peak...Comment

Re: NBA 2k12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360) Later Today For PS3
This doesn't really make sense in my opinion..
people who have never played the game before in their lives will try the demo and will not be able to make subs, hear commenary, or see any of the other fine presentation tidbits.. so what's the point of a demo? 2k shouldn't be trying to convince their existing fanbase to buy the game, the hardcore people will already buy it, newcomers are the ones that need a good demo.
2k fans have been buying the game for years and will continue to do so for a long time regardless if there is a demo or not, so they least you can do as a company is reward your fanbase for years of dedication by giving them a good product that resembles the real game without giving too much away..
The demos they release are a slap in the face to 2k fans who spend their hard earned money on the game, play it the entire year, and then keep up to date with the lack of news up until October.
I think their sales could go even higher if new people who tried the demo out before buying the game (eg. past Live players who still need a reason to convert over - I've met a TONNE of those in real life - even recently).. so I don't think this is some great 'marketing tactic' on their end with the bare bones release..Last edited by HeavenlyTouch; 09-20-2011, 11:20 AM.Comment

Quick thoughts on the demo:
-Seriously, how good is the new post game mechanics?
You can branch out so many moves, so many combinations and the best thing about it, THE CONTROLS, you have full control on any significant move you make in the post and they all branch out and blend in smoothly (how many times has smooth been mentioned in this thread?)
- Fast break is so much better, the difference really is night and day, enough said
- Passing/Ball movement feels a lot, and i mean a LOT better than 2k11, there's a number of new animations added that really works well in different situations when moving the ball around and the game does a great job for the most part of the type of pass you want to makeComment

Yeah Dre, but at the end of the day you're getting this game regardless with the rest of us. I'm not saying it's right but it is what it is.I guess im tired of hearing that excuse for everything

With that, despite missing features and the inability to play as super friends, I'm loving this demo. It's 2K11 redefined and polished which is fine with me.Comment

anyone knows?guys, about the "push-the-tempo" animation, where the ballhandler pushes the ball infront and is able to run even quicker: you just press and hold the turbo button in the backcourt (like you would, when using turbo normaly)? Does this mean that you can't use this in the frontcourt? like on a breakaway to avoid the D to catch up ?Comment

I like how you can move the inbounder with the R-Stick after they score on you.
Game controls very very well, I have two little problems though:
- When jogging forward, when I decide I want to stop and walk backwards whilst facing the basket, there is still a weird force that delays the movement.
- How do I make stepbacks without pump faking?
Loving the game so far.Comment
