I can see why people are coming away underwhelmed. You really, really do need to have the ability to call plays to fully get a grasp of what this game can do.
It's amazing - when I was younger, I was ok with just running around and working the ball around. Ever since Inside Drive I don't think I've gone back.
I know I'm not alone - I feel like I can't really control what is going on if the inner coach inside of me can't be used in a game. It's nice taking Dirk or whomever and learning the controls... but it feels so shallow, even for just a few minutes.
Game just isn't as fun or as deep without plays. I hate not being in control of my attack.
I mix in freestyle of course but to have to do it every time down is ruff for me. LOL

I also REALLY like the addition of wrap-around fouls.
First time I did it was off a fastbreak from Chalmers to LeBron. Saw an alley-oop IMMEDIATELY. Snatched Chalmers quickly before it could happen. Fernandez just tugged him and looked like he patted him on the back, I think...very nice, least it wasn't the same *** intentional foul animation.
Second time was when they threw Bosh an outlet pass. Caught up with Dirk and I forgot the rules of basketball like an idiot. Grabbed Bosh and got a clear path foul. lolComment

Same here...don't understand why 2k doesn't even have quick plays so that we can do something like tell our guys to post up in the demo. Not having quick screens sucks as well. Not a biggie...I'm at the point where I can wait 2 weeks to get the whole enchilada.Comment

.....if guys think the retail version will have one, four minute quarter, no commentary, and no plays--AFTER MORE THAN LIKELY PLAYING 2K11 AND KNOWING IT'S A DEMO--then they are among the dumbest people on the face of the earth and should have their bodies donated to science--while still alive.
I'm not saying this was a great marketing ploy...I'm just saying what I've typed. Other than that, I'd rather not argue because I want to keep this to an impression thread.Comment

Am I impressed? Very.
I ran across a glitch but I'm not sure if it happens all the time and I know it'll be fixed in the full game if it does happen all the time in the demo. The Heat got called for a three seconds in the key violation. Dirk went to the free throw line to shoot the technical and he just stood there with the ball in his hand, the free throw shot clock was stuck, and I couldn't shoot. I had to restart the game. Again, I don't know if this happens all the time or if it's just some of the time.Comment

Guys, didnt they do this last year with the demo(watered down, no subs, commentary ect.) and went on to sell millions? They know what they're doing year in and year out with everything. They think things out to a point where they hardly make mistakes. I dont know why some OS'ers want the demo to be a full game. 2k knows how to give you that wow factor when you put the game in..
I remember last year people were saying that Jordan wasnt a big deal and 2k ran out of ideas only to put their game in and intro into a jordan challenge only to come back and freak out on OS.
Chill guys 2k got this, and will collect that 60 that their owed on the 4thLive, Love, Learn

Not for me, I could pretty much use it on cue. But I guess it's good that they made it more accessible for others. Just shouldn't be touted as 'new' since like I said, it was there last year, just maybe a bit harder to use.Comment

Re: NBA 2k12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360) Later Today For PS3
Saw a couple of new dunks during my last game. One was a two handed power dunk with a little hang from Tyson Chandler. After releasing from the rim, one of his arms thrust wildly in the air, like young Kenyon Martin used to do after he dunked. And to be honest, it looked pretty Chandler-like. I'd doubt he'd have signature dunks, but it coincidentally looked very close to reality.
Also, I saw a new LeBron James dunk (or new to me) where he double pumped it with two hands, taking the ball down near his waist. I saw one like this one in 2K11, but not quite the same.
I didn't realize you could run the baseline in this game until you mentioned that. So thanks for the tip.Comment
