The problem with these posts is that people's perspective of older games is based on their memories of the game when it came out. Your view is still defined by those first 'wow moments' when you played it a half decade ago in 2007.

Pop the game in now and see how it plays in 2011. It's laughable when you think about how amazed you were with it. There's hardly any real sense of balance. It was the most balanced for its time, but the cheese in that game is so outrageous with today's standards that the community would be howling for its cancelation.

What I thought was buttery smooth in 2007, now I see skating and herky jerky spins, completely unrealistic passes, ball magically passing through defenders' hands, no realistic sense of NBA speed, janky player models, constant passes to non-looking player's backs and then they use psychic powers and turn around at the last split second to receive the pass, just a lot of now embarrassing and unrealistic basketball moments.
