Re: why are all free agents in preseason askin for little amout of money?
I love it this season.
My backup DT doesn't want 4,000,000 a year instead he wants $1,000,000.
It is much more accurate this season.
I think if a team offered T.O a million he would take it. No one wants him at this stage in his career. -

That's just how it is. Madden hasnt done anything to make Free Agents ask for more. Even if they are Future Hall of Famers or Playmakers, if their coming off of the Market. Just how it is."We gon' float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. AH! Rumble, young man rumble! AH!"Comment

but guys everybody in free agency only wanting 6 figures? Garrard signs for only six figures? idk bout that one but go look at everyonePSN: DRS506Comment

I like it... as opposed to years past when the CPU teams could sign them for that, and the user would always get screwed by them asking for outrageous money.
Let's be honest, if there is a veteran player who is still a free agent when the season rolls around, they are not going to ask for multi-million dollar deals anymore. They are going to sign a modest 1 year deal to show they can still play, and try and earn a bigger contract the next year.
Seems pretty realistic to me. (The $$$ amount is a little low, but it's better than Garrard getting a $4 million dollar contract in Week 2).Comment

Re: why are all free agents in preseason askin for little amout of money?
If you're doing it through the menu option called "Free Agents" its a bug or something. Everyone just accepts one year, chump change deals no matter who they are. The only way to get realistic contracts is to do it through 'Team Management', and pull the left trigger and select 'Free Agents' on the list above the Bears and below the Vikings. And yes the FA thing is broken. I released David Baas who had like a $6 million deal. I then resigned him through the FA menu option for around $500k. Its broken.
And Owens is an 85 in Madden. The fact no CPU team wants an 85 OVR WR for $850k in a video game, where there are none of the variables that there are IRL, no its not really realistic, sorry. TO in a vacuum at 85 OVR? He'd be the first guy taken in past maddens.Comment

If you don't like it try this... Instead of signing them in the Free Agency menu got to Player Management. From there cycle over to Free Agents and sign them from there. This way the ask for a higher amount of money, plus you can sign them to longer deals. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

but its not just the user, the "CPU" isnt smart enough to do this, so they wlll get players for less. altogether its broken, no work around that but a patchPSN: DRS506Comment

Re: why are all free agents in preseason askin for little amout of money?
i wondered the same thing. i signed a few guys and actually wanted longer deals but didnt have an option. so i did the cheap 1 yr deals as thats all i could do. now the funny thing is when the actual season starts, i notice the cpu signing ppl and then i start seeing real amounts like TO getting millions. linemen getting millions, etc etc i would think it would be the other way around...expensive in the preseason, cheaper once the season starts. i just chalked it up to madden being madden lol. but as others have said, i like this better than having to spend 5mil on a 75ovr backup for depth any day. ill just extend them once the yr is over and im sure itll be more realistic pricing at that time.Lets Go:

Bug, bug, and bug. No way you get into salary cap hell unless you poach alot of top FA's.Comment

I have gripes with M12, but this is not one of them. Players who sign late (i.e. into the pre-season or even the regular season) typically sign short deals for not a lot of money.
However, if you are feeling generous, you can sign them for more money. Go into "Player Management" rather than "Free Agents". From the Player Management screen, where you can change teams, change to the team of all Free Agents. Then click on a player and sign him, and he will ask for a longer term deal at more money.
You can also sign the player cheap off the FA list, then immediately sign him to a contract extension for more money/term.Comment

you are failing to realize its not just a USER problem its affects the CPU too. they are signing players worth at least a few millions, for a few thousands. how real is that? like seriously TO would probably sign at 1-3 mill for 1 year. not 850k! kidding? yes he wants a title, but why bang ur body up at that age for such small amout. idc how u guys cut it, FA is broken. face itI have gripes with M12, but this is not one of them.
