Played 2 gimmicky offenses, ECU and Navy, that neutralize your advantage on the defensive line. The secondary has been very suspect for years.

2? UGA lit up SC to... And ECU is not all that gimmicky.

Florida is much improved as far as being organized and things. Our run D is sick sure we played nobodys so far but man teams struggle to get a yard. And we should have picked off Bray at least 4-5 times I could make a highlight real if all the easy dropped Int's.. Rainey is a beast to lol

South Carolina just looks horrible at times. What happen to there defense? The east looks wide open to me

Florida's defense is very young in inexperienced. They allowed a UT offense who couldnt run the ball against Montana and Cincy to score 23 points without their best offensive player on the field. I wouldnt get too excited about florida, they are incapable of running the ball, for the most part, and the only plays they managed to score on where due to two freshmen lbs at UT who forgot to cover the rb out of the backfield.

the concerns against uga is they did run the ball on us. he didnt really pass on us until we went braindead in the 4th quarter and gave him 10 yard passes over the middle every play and let him get in a rhythm. giving up 21 to navy isnt something we should be all that ashamed of, held them to 18 yards rushing or so in the 4th quarter.

change gimmicky to extreme offenses. air raid to traditional to option isnt an easy task for any defense. that doesnt excuse the defense for not playing better than it has, but im still holding out hope that if we stay relatively healthy and get some guys back that it will at least get to being a good defense because theres enough talent that theres no excuse not to be good.

the east is open, we're only one or two games into the conference season. south carolina's prognosis is like this, if we're a good team we impose our will and win the next 3 games at home vs vandy, auburn, and kentucky. if we're very good we'll beat tennessee and miss st on the road. anything after that is too far down the line, but at that point we'll at least know if we're capable of beating what will likely be a very good arkansas team on the road.

I don't care what you say Florida is better than last year. UT only score that much because we had 7 PASS INF calls and about 17 penalties in for a total of almost 200 yards. Bray Scored 2 TDs on busted coverages and should have been picked at least 5 times..... Bray will probably be the best Qb we face this year and Floridas run D is good... There young but talented and Florida should have buried this UT team but missed a 2 TDs by just inches and a 3rd could have been scored but settled for field goals. If you watched the game then you know the game was never even close as the score would say.

I don't care what you say Florida is better than last year. UT only score that much because we had 7 PASS INF calls and about 17 penalties in for a total of almost 200 yards. Bray Scored 2 TDs on busted coverages and should have been picked at least 5 times..... Bray will probably be the best Qb we face this year and Floridas run D is good... If you watched the game then you know the game was never even close as the score would say.

dude...just stop. UF is better than last year, but they should be since they sucked last year. Right now they are a middle of the pack sec team. I still expect a 7-5 or 8-4 type season.

Watch out for October 1. Bama will be in for a dogfight when they travel to Gainesville.

This Florida team is better than last year.

Oh, and Florida should have beat UT by more than 20. That game really wasn't close.

J, you really dont believe that do you? I thought you were more level headed than that. Florida is improved from last year, but they have huge holes in the secondary. When you are getting burned by 4th string UT WR's you know there is a problem. And 20?.....seriously? We must have watched two totally different games. If Bray gets a little more loft on that first pass in the second half and the UF player doesnt make a great play, we would have been looking at a 3 point ballgame at that point. Hunter out, bad coaching decisions on the defensive side of the ball (why you dont spy Rainey at all times), and some bad breaks.

Florida still has their top corner out (Jeremy Brown) and possibly their best threat in the midrange downfield passing game (Jordan Reed - presents matchup problems for most teams).

Gotcha. I do try to be level headed so thanks for recognizing that.

I came into this year with lowered expectations, and I have raised those a bit after 3 games. I don't think UF is winning the SEC (sure would be a surprise), but I see them making some noise as the year goes on.

Stinks that Hunter got hurt. He is very talented.

Point is same thing could be said for the TD's throws Brantley missed by just inches. Heck even one hit a Wr right in the facemask. All week we heard Bray would light up our young secondary but they held him under 200 until even the 3rd Q I believe. Take in account it took penalties and dropped picks to keep most of his drives going. Our DB's held there own IMO... But anyway moving on

I think this weekend's games have been Separation Saturday in the SEC. Bama and LSU will duke it out for best in the west and Florida is the best team in the East until further notice.

I wouldn't underestimate LSU. Shaping up for their match-up with Bama to be winner-take-all.
