Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

I want a unique team, not too powerful or too hard to build. Middle of the road is nice. Thanks.

well if you want to try to put yourself in a good recruiting state, you could go baylor, cal, texas tech, USF, SDST, etc.

of those i'd go USF or baylor.

Re: Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

I'm gonna post something that I posted in a thread from a long time ago

        "Go with Tulane

Even though they're a one star program in CUSA, they have the potential for a LOT of upside.

There's usually good talent coming out of Louisiana, and you can easily pipeline Texas.

        Solid rivalry against LSU already.

They play in the Super Dome (~80,000), so you can have a loud stadium if you keep up the good work.

Their jersey selection isn't THAT boring.

You can pretty much design the program from the ground up because all of the players are kind of crappy. If you want to run the wishbone, you can start from scratch recruiting that. If you want to run the 3-3-5, you can start from scratch with that. etc.

If you continue the good work you can get invited to the SEC, creating a more challenging future.

The best thing is, you'll know that YOU are the reason the team won its national championship(s) in the future because you had to sit through all the crappy years and recruit your own talent and build your own schemes.

        It's worth it.

Winning against Bama with a team like Florida, OSU, Texas, OU, etc is not anywhere near as rewarding as the feeling that you get when you beat a big team with a small-time program.
EVERY game that you play with Tulane is a struggle. Every possession is incredibly important. Every sub makes the difference. Every play-call determines the outcome. It's great."

I sort of enjoy playing as Oklahoma State because they have an abundance of cool uniforms...not sure if you'd consider them too powerful or not.

I always pick a team who has a new coach so it seems realistic. Here's a list of the coaching changes for this season.

            <table class="coaches" align="left"><tbody><tr><th class="header" colspan="3">Coaching Changes For 2011 Season</th> </tr> <tr class="subheader"> <td width="150">Team</td> <td width="150">Out</td> <td width="150">In</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Arkansas State</td> <td>Steve Roberts</td> <td>Hugh Freeze</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="team">Ball State</td> <td>Stan Parrish</td> <td>Pete Lembo</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Colorado</td> <td>Dan Hawkins</td> <td>Jon Embree</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="team">Connecticut</td> <td>Randy Edsall</td> <td>Paul Pasqualoni</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Florida</td> <td>Urban Meyer</td> <td>Will Muschamp</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="team">Indiana</td> <td>Bill Lynch</td> <td>Kevin Wilson</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Kent State</td> <td>Doug Martin</td> <td>Darrell Hazell</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="team">Louisiana-Lafayette</td> <td>Rickey Bustle</td> <td>Mark Hudspeth</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Maryland</td> <td>Ralph Friedgen</td> <td>Randy Edsall</td> </tr> <tr valign="top"> <td class="team">Miami (Fla.)</td> <td>Randy Shannon</td> <td>(i) Jeff Stoutland (0-1)

            Dave Doeren</td> </tr> <tr class="alt"> <td class="team">Ohio State</td> <td>Jim Tressel</td> <td>(i) Luke Fickell</td> </tr> <tr valign="top"> <td class="team">#-Pittsburgh</td> <td>Dave Wannstedt
            Michael Haywood</td> <td>Michael Haywood

Currently playing as Indiana, got upsets over OSU and Iowa in the first 2 years. I recruited a juco qb who is now a 91 overall senior for the 3rd season. I set up a rivalry with ND and got my first upset against them this year, I also beat #5 PSU. Only because senior stars Bolden and Redd went down in the first quarter.

OkSU is probably too powerful, a similar more realistic team could be WVU.

Clemson is pretty fun. They have a young team, their stadium is cool and the school ratings are pretty good too.

I haven't played NCAA for nearly a week or two, but after reading your post I have to put it in and start a dynasty with Tulane.

Re: Starting a dynasty ...need team choices

Depends on what you mean middle of the road.

If you mean first year you could go anywhere from 6-6 to 12-0 based on your skills, then several choices come to mind. Just because a team is 4* doesn't mean it's a middle of the road, Rice is a lot easier to build up then Cincinnati.

A lot of factors come into play, and I have gotten a lot of recruits on the dynasty I recruited on simply due to pipelines.

I prefer Missouri. Good team, on the rise, decent pipelines, and they are my team. In my primary dynasty with them I went 13-0 first season and so far am 8-1 second season. However, that first year I could have easily been 8-5 had it not been for a few close calls and gutsy moves and mistakes. I assume that's what you mean, a team that could go undefeated but more likely to be 8-5 or so.

Baylor, Missouri, Texas Tech, Kansas (!), TCU, UCF, USF, Houston, Nevada, Hawaii, and BYU are all fair middle of the road schools that going 6-6 to 12-0 in year 1 is certainly possible.

Hmmm, good list I might make a Baylor dynasty just because of RGIII, although I'm not fond of having to compete with Texas, A&M, LSU, and the 2 Oklahoma schools for recruits.

Good decision going with Cal. I would have chose Baylor due to BEST recruiting state (easily Top 3) and a great roster from the start. Regardless, I should enjoy seeing you take Cal to the top!
