Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty

Border War a throwback to 2007
In 2007 the Border War between Kansas and Missouri became a hugely televised and viewed football game as the #2 Kansas Jayhawks battled the #4 Missouri Tigers.
But for one loss, #10 Kansas might be ranked #1 or #2 again. Missouri is ranked #4 again. Whoever wins this game clinches the Big XII, they are both 7-0 in the league and whoever wins will be 8-0. The only two teams capable of finishing 8-1 are Missouri and Kansas, if the winner of the Border War loses next week they still hold the tiebreaker and will represent the Big XII in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl.

Last year's game was a shootout, and this year will be very similar. The Tigers have a weak secondary again, and Webb has been shooting up defenses for Kansas. Missouri hopes to hold Webb down, as the Kansas offense is prolific and could easily score 40-60 points, as they are currently averaging over 46 points per game and are #1 in scoring in the nation.

2012 Civil War has national title stakes
#2 Oregon (10-1) and #6 Oregon State (10-1) are getting it on, rivaling the Border War for attention, with a little more at stake. Whoever wins the 2012 Civil War gets the Pac-12 title bid, and providing Utah handles Cal like they should, will get another top 10 opponent to try and showcase why they should be the the BCS National championship in January.

If Oregon wins out they are guaranteed a slot, Oregon State will most likely be guaranteed one but Illinois is ranked above them and if they beat Wisconsin this weekend and Iowa stays a one loss team then it's anyone's guess.
