Punt Returns and Defender speed/acc?

I don't know if this is a real issue or just my imagination, but it seems like punt return defenders are much faster than in previous years. I have a guy in franchise mode with 99 return and 95+ in speed, agil, and acc but he can't outrun anyone, even a linebacker.

I noticed this too. It seems like they are faster then what they should be and they take the perfect angle every time. Only way i could get ever break a punt for a TD was if the speed threshold was on 0.

Having the same issue here. Averaging about 5 yards per return with Noel Devine, mid to high 90's in speed, acc, agility and return. Seems like as soon as I catch the ball, there are 5 defenders all over me. My blockers can't block worth crap, which certainly doesn't help.

Same as usual, nigh on impossible to return a punt or KO back far. At least NCAA this year, I could return KO's.

Been this way for years honeslty. Blocking on special teams is horrible in Madden and NCAA. And on punts it is just down right terrible how fast the gunners get down the field.

I've returned a KO a few times too, best ive done on punt return is like 16yds maybe.

I have found that lining up out of any of the punt block formations, (ie. punt block return, punt block man, etc) gets you an extra few seconds back there to return, as the offense usually lines up in a protection formation. That being said, the extra 5 yards you gain is still brutal.

It is definitely harder to return punts this year. It is about on average with realistics in the nfl though. Kickoffs i have been able to return a couple for tds. i use titans and mariani. All about that split second decision in the first wave.

I returned one punt return with Darren sproles but it was called back because of a hold.

It's not your imagination, punt returning has become a whole ton harder this year due to amazing coverage by the punting team.

The blocking logic of your teammates has always been horrendous in every Madden, but last year if you brought back an extra blocker, it was possible to get some good returns, especially with an deadly return man like Desean or Hester.

This year, not even bringing the extra blocker helps because while you might be able to block one guy, there's always 2 guys right behind him taking perfect angles at 100% speed.

It's not a huge problem IMO because most punts IRL result in fair catches or short returns, and I still do occasionally break one for 30 yards or so. Still haven't taken one to the house through 40 games on All-Pro, but they're pretty rare anyway.

Kick returns are slightly harder than last year too but not nearly to the degree of punt returns, I've returned a handful of kickoffs for scores.

I got a 95 Yard Punt TD my last game first one I like how hard it is to get them makes them exciting It was like the Jackson vs Giants one I missed the catch ran back picked up the ball and ran it back, It was amazing

Had my first (I think) today. It was the first game of my 5th season in my hawks chise. My KR and PR is a guy named Kevin Marks, he is Beast Mode's back up. I think I have only one KR TD with (now my 4th string WR) Will Corbett. 6'6" 210 lb burner!
