    Wild Horses: M12 Franchise

The 2010 Denver Broncos season was the franchise's 41st season in the National Football League, the 51st overall and the 10th playing their home games at INVESCO Field at Mile High. The off-season was marked by the draft selections of Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and All-American Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, as well as season-ending injuries to All-Pro linebacker Elvis Dumervil and free agent running back LenDale White. The team failed to improve on its 8–8 record from 2009, and set a new franchise record for losses in a single season, with a 4–12 record. The regular season was marked by a videotaping scandal dubbed Spygate II and the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels.

In the 2011 off-season was an off-season marred with scandals and a high number of chances. After the firing of Josh McDaniels the Broncos hired former Panthers HC, John Fox. John Elway was also named Executive VP of Football Operations, and will have the final say in all football matters. The following changes were made to the Broncos' coaching staff: Clancy Barone was moved from offensive line coach to tight ends coach, replacing Bob Ligashesky. Dave Magazu was named the new offensive line coach. Tyke Tolbert was named the new wide receivers coach. Magazu and Tolbert both previously served on John Fox's staff with the Panthers. Brian Callahan was moved to the offensive quality control position, while Jay Rodgers was moved to the defensive quality control position. Eric Studesville, who served as the team's interim head coach for the final four games of the 2010 season, will retain his position as running backs coach. Also Adam Gase, who served as the Broncos' wide receivers coach during the previous two seasons, was named the team's new quarterbacks coach, replacing Ben McDaniels. That same day, Jeff Rodgers, who served on John Fox's staff with the Panthers during the previous two seasons, was named the team's new special teams coach. the Broncos hired former New Orleans Saints' secondary coach Dennis Allen as the team's new defensive coordinator, replacing Don Martindale. The following day, the team hired Ron Milus as the new secondary coach and Richard Smith as the new linebackers coach. Milus previously served as the Broncos' secondary coach in 2000, while Smith previously served as the Broncos' special teams coach and linebackers coach in the mid-1990s, and both previously served on John Fox's staff with the Panthers during the past two seasons. The coaching staff was finalized, whenKeith Burns was brought back as the assistant special teams coach and Sam Garnes was hired as the teams' new assistant secondary coach. Garnes served on John Fox's staff with the Panthers last season.

      Broncos sign 6 UFA
Before the start of training camp the Denver Broncos sign 6 players to non-guarenteed camp invites.

      - UDFA HB Noel Devine, from WVU. Devine, is a small elusive scat back.

      - Laurence Maroney who was with the team and was dissapointing, but invited to training for a non-guarenteed deal, and one last chance.

      - UFA 2nd year WR/KR Mardy Gilyard was also signed and invited to camp. Was orginally drafted in 2010 by St. Louis, and was cut after the season.

      - UDFA S Will Hill, from Florida, former teammate of back-up QB Tim Tebow. Hill is 6'0" 208 hard-hitting safety and looks to learn behind vet Brian Dawkins.

      - UFA DT Tommie Harris was also signed to non-guarenteed veteran mininum deal. The troubled DT was recently released by the Bears and looks to stay out of trouble to catch on with the Broncos.

      - UFA DE Everette Brown from FSU was recently released by the Panthers after being draft in the 2nd round in the 2009 draft. He has underperformed his draft selection and totally 6 sacks in 28 games and 3 starts.

        2011 PRESEASON STORYLINES

As football finally returns following a prolonged battle in the courtrooms between the NFL owners and NFLPA concludes, the Denver Broncos look to prepare for the opening of Training Camp. After a dissapointing 4-12 season in 2010, the Broncos look to improve and gallop to the playoffs in 2011.

        POSITION BATTLES

        • Starting QB: open competition. Both Orton and Tebow played well at times last year with Tim Tebow having all the momentum coming into this season after starting the last three games of 2010, who will play the best and become the starting QB in 2011. Dark horse is Brady Quinn, he hasn't showed much development since coming into the league, but he can still shock the Denver faithful by putting some pressure on Orton and Tebow
        • Secondary Halfback: open competition. After the signing of Noel Devine and re-signing of Maroney John Fox stated that it will be an open competition on who will be the starting RB for the Broncos. Moreno, who was incredible talent, but is a liability because of his injury proneness. McGahee was signed in the off-season to a 4 year 10 million dollar deal.
        • Starting WR: Brandon Lloyd has cemented his position as WR1, but 2-6 spots are wide up in the air. Eric Decker, played in 14 games last season tallying 6 catches and 106 yards. Royal, after a great rookie season catching 91, he has tailed off with 37 catches in 09 and 59 in 10. Thomas, had a solid rookie campaign with 22 catches and 283 yards and a pair of Tds. Dark Horse is Mardy Gilyard, recently signed, very elusive but only got 6 catches for 63 yards in his rookie season with STL.
        • Starting TE: open competition. Broncos draft two very athletic TEs in Virgil Green and Julius Thomas. Daniel Fells who was signed in the off-season after 3 seasons with the Rams. Very good 2010 season with 41 catches and 391 yards.
        PLAYERS TO WATCH

        • QB Tim Tebow. Tebow was McDaniels guy, can John Fox use him in a way that he can use his strengths as a playmaker. He will have to battle off Kyle Orton who John Fox is still the frontrunner
        • LB Von Miller. Miller is an incredible talent, how quickly can he adjust to the speed and strength of the NFL?
        • QB Kyle Orton. After Tim Tebow started the last 3 games of the 2010 season, what is Orton's mindset like. It most likely improved after John Fox named him the frontrunner for the QB job.

Nicely formatted franchise, to me that's a make or break for these things. Keep it up, I'll be reading.

                      Broncos Aims Mile High

The 2011 season has finally arrived after months of labor debate, training camp and preseason the 2011 regular season has arrived. How can the Denver Broncos improve on their dissapointing 2010 season and improving on a 4-12 record.

As for the quarterback position, HC John Fox has announced that Kyle Orton has won the starting job, but Tebow will see plenty of action says the HC. "Tim had a very good preseason as well, but we feel Kyle is our best option at QB. Tim will be getting a lot of reps, in different packages at QB, HB, FB, and WR. I think he can be a real difference for us this year."

A few roster moves were announced today before opening weekend in the NFL. CB Chris Harris and OLB Mike Mohamed were released from the team and signed FS Ahmad Black and OLB Mark Herzlich. Herzlich, is a cancer survivor and could fill in nicely as a special teams and back up to Von Miller. Ahmad Black is a Bob Sanders type of safety, good playmaker great against the run.

This season is a season full of possibilites and concerns. How will Tebow fulfill the role of all around playmaker, will he be bitter about not being QB1 or do what's best for the team? Will John Fox raise this team's level? Many more questions to be answered.

                            Broncos overpower Raiders

In the opening game of the 2011 season the Denver Broncos completely dominate the Raiders with their running game. Led by Moreno, who wanted to send a message after a lackluster 2010 season. Moreno had 20 carries for 184 yards, inlcuding a 97 yard touchdown in the second half that vaulted the Broncos to victory.

"I liked how we played today. We had a poor first half, made some adjustments and came out on fire in the second half," HC Fox said, "Knoshon really had an incredible game, over 200 yards total offense, not only that made some really good blocks in the passing game as well.

Notes: Tebow rushed for 50 yards and caught a TD pass in his first game as all-around specialist. After the game the Broncos announced that Urban Meyer has been hired as "Special Offensive Assistant" Meyer is the former HC of the Florida Gators and current Bronco Tim Tebow
