Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
It has disappointed me...I was a Live guy until NBA Live 2008, then I switched over to 2k. I always liked how Live's players looked more than 2k, but now I'm not even sure on that.
Live (er Elite) will probably be able to put out a solid game, but it will take years to get even close to 2k now. Unless they get lucky...and incredibly smart. -
Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
NBA Live 10 won me back. Played it much more than I played 2k9-2k11 combined. EA let me down with the direction change. So, i was let down by NBA Elite. NBA Live 10 is still in the Top 3 for Next gen hoops games for me...1. NBA 2k8 2. CHoops 2k8 3. Live 10.
Honestly this is why I think they attempted to rebrand, to not mar the Live name any further...especially with such a risky direction.Comment

Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
I'm let down. I wonder how they were able to get Mike Wang then just let him go. Maybe Wang was doing a bargaining thing with 2k by dipping to Live, but once they had him, they should have kept him or at least kept the direction he was going.
It is disappointing that it ended up like this. Live was a good game with good servers (not perfect, but good) and I played it a lot.
I'm seeing a lot to like about 2k12. While I will never be exclusively into either one, I think that it should be easier to stomach no competition's game with 2k12 looking like it's got solid gameplay.

Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
I will be disappointed if next release is bare bone. I think EA can get back into race with 2K. IMO 2K has still left the door openComment

Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
No doubt Live has disappointed me. As far as them coming back? If I were EA I would leave the game of b-ball alone. That other game has set the bar so high with 12 that its not even funny.
LET IT BE EA

Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
A magazine rating means nothing. If Ebert says a movie is 4 stars, I'm not going to take his word for it. I'm disappointed because EA did something right with Live 10 for as barebones as it was and admittedly, I played it more than 2K10. Reason being was because I felt every game wasn't a dunk fest like 2K with people trying to bum rush the paint.
I'm not one of these that wishes death upon everything EA. It trips me out when people make it seem like 2K isn't in the business of making money like EA is. I go for whichever game is better, not the name.Comment

Re: Has Live Disappointed you?
I'll leave it at this. 2k is looking more and more like Live 10. IMO 2k12 gameplay is what Live 11 would have been. They would have expanded the post game, the animation variety and worked on the face break. 2k is still trying to recreate the amount of player and dribble control Live had. They also had to update playcalling, have player DNA, add momentum shots, right stick passing, shot stick now resembles layup solutions even more. If you love 2k11 and 12, thank Live 10. In my opinion, Elite hurt Live and took EA backwards. Live was not far away from making the NBA Hoops competition very close.Comment
