Players have amazing first touch in this game and I mean all players, I play in the Eredivisie in my Career mode and players can easily bring down some rocket longs balls down of one foot in stride. I have given up on the game though, I don't think I can find it in me to play it anymore. Also the game seriously lags for me at times offline, it totally ruins my experience along with the AI and the a few other issues.

On plus though, in my Newcastle career mode have I have was able to draw 4 penalties in the first 5 games. 2 came in one game however those were the few fouls I have seen in games though.

I will play it from time to time as I just had fun doing the challenge that is up there currently but PES will be my go to game this year then fifa when PES pisses me off

Lags? Have you tried clearing your cache?

Im on the PS3 I dont think you can clear your cache on it. The early release played just fine, and the disk is clean and I am running it on a Ps3 slim. Its weird every other game runs fine.

Did you try deleting the install data and trying again?

That's the one thing that has always hampered the Fifa series and it still hasn't been fixed. It's a major problem imo: Every player still traps the ball like ronaldinho. There is absolutely no individuality when it comes to first touch, which seriously hampers the series. Pro Evolution has this element down pact.

it seems to my that goalkeepers during penalties throw themselves way too early

this is the best football game ever

it needs more signature style though

jockeying with A seems to have been made for casual players - it feels like being on auto-pilot to me

There is absolutely no individuality when it comes to first touch, which seriously hampers the series. Pro Evolution has this element down pact.

Agreed, though sometimes you'll see a trap that goes a bit further than most (though it is still relatively close by) but it seems to be way too random as opposed to when a hard or difficult pass comes in.

I have no idea how to score in this game.

I think I need to get used to shooting when I'm in the box. Get too cute.

This game is awesome when you put some passes together in the box.

same here, that and the computer is absurd at defense. There's times where I can't even get close to the box and every single through ball I attempt gets thwarted by the Usain Bolt quick like defense. The AI goalies also have games where they're absolutely unbeatable.

I was 17-0 online and then lost 4 in a row. WTF some people know exactly where and when to do certain things...I feel like I'm being exploited at times.

There are sliders that will help this.

But I do not see this at all. I see a difference in the players abilities. Except of course when the CPU wants to score - then they all become Kaka.

Why is it my defenders do nothing at times? They just stand there and allow the offense to just run through them. I feel like I have to do everything because my team is incompetent and wont do anything.

I don't think there is a slider for first touch or some variant thereof (eg, technique).

I wish there was one. Every player traps the ball like Ronaldinho. Unrealistic.

I think the applicable stat for trapping the ball is Ball Control (dribbling would be running with the ball and thus separate). Therefore, it would be nice if we had a universal stat editor to decrease ball control stat for every single player by a certain percentage. By tinkering it, it would do wonders I think. Like I said before, I think the game is great, but there is absolutely no individuality when it comes to trapping the ball (everyone is superhuman) and for me it's really ruining the experience. Otherwise the game would be superb. Seems like a small thing, but it makes or breaks this game imo.

EDIT: Sorry, I am mistaken. It's not ball control stat. I lowered that down to 1 for every player on my team and they still trapped the ball amazingly well. It seems ball control affects more the ability of a player to turn and how well they can maneuver with the ball. It appears as though they may not even have a stat in respect of players receiving passes, which would explain why they all behave superhuman in that regard. Imo they should implement a completely new stat called first touch. Either that or tie it into ball control stat.

Overall I'm really pleased with the game. Yes there are some things that PES does better, but the overall package is a good blend of authenticity and accessible gameplay.

I would like to see a patch for fouls and any of the CM mode issues that creep up, but I'm pretty impressed with the state of the game at release.I feel like we're one patch away from having the best sports release of this console generation—or at least multi-platform as The Show is tough to top.

I agree.

CM bugs fixed and more fouls called would be a dream. The play on the pitch is top notch but lack of foul calls takes away from the realism from it all. The fouls happen, they're just not called. I hope they're able to fix it and not do what the Madden and NCAA team does and ignore most fouls except for holding and face mask.
