Anyone Install game to harddrive Xbox 360??

Anyone notice the game still starts up and spins off the disc for a minute during the intro and then finally stops when installed?? First game I have seen do this and i want to make sure it's normal.. usually when a game is installed and you click on it it will never spin. But 2k12 boots up with the disc spinning and then finally stops about a minute in.. Anyone else let me know if yours does it.. thanks!!

I installed it and it does that for me too. It's normal. It does that for all games if you install them to the harddrive.

There's still information on the disc that the 360 uses. Don't worry about it.

That's how microsoft keeps you from cheating the system. Even though the game is installed, the startup scripts still come from the game disc itself....otherwise, what's to stop someone from buying a game & then letting all the homies install it on their harddrives without making a purchase?

yep first thing I noticed, It must be reading some info from the disk, 2k11 it was really quiet or it did not read anything..

It spins longer now because of the new disc format. It used to only spin for 15 seconds or so, but now it spins for a min or two.

ok glad to know.. It does run the disc for awhile before.. I know nba 2k11 did not do this.. First game that loaded for awhile in the menus before it stops.. Anyone else comment on this??

It shortens the load times. It's good to install games to the hard drive that you play frequently because it also saves your DVD drive from spinning all the time.
