Anyone else noticed this? It's ridiculous. Someone please bring this to the attention of 2k so they can fix the bug. I don't know the proper channels in bringing it to their attention. Dunk packages designed for specific players should be compatible.

Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
Certain players cannot be assigned their signature dunk packages! Looks like there's a bug that requires a minimum dunk rating (usually a 90+ rating) to assign players their very own dunk package. Ex: Kobe, Rose, Garnett, and Ellis have sig dunk packages that cannot be assigned to them (possibly Richardson and VC too: I haven't checked).

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
Wrong! It's most definitely a bug. I'm not talking about MyPlayer in deciding which packages you can assign your MyPlayer. I'm talking in general: Rose and Ellis, for example, are not assigned their own dunk packages in any game mode. Try to edit your rosters and see for yourself.
Rose, Ellis, Garnet, and Kobe are certainly worthy of their own dunk packages, but not the 90+ rating needed to assign it to them. It's a bug. Period. These players shouldn't need a 90+ dunk rating for their own signature dunk packages.Last edited by jtb028; 10-08-2011, 11:08 PM.Comment

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
i play with the bulls and D. rose has his own package now. 2k put his dunk at 84 and you need a 85 to unlock his package. so i went up 1 point and now d rose has d rose dunk package.Wrong! Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
I understand he has his own package. Problem is, you can't give it to him with 2K's ratings. Why have a minimum rating at all? A "Rose" is a "Rose" with or without a certain rating, and should be given his signature package as such.
Besides, when you play online with the standard rosters you can't add that extra point to give Rose his signature dunks because of the bug. This needs to be fixed.Last edited by jtb028; 10-08-2011, 11:17 PM.Comment

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
no you need the rating to justify the package. in that case you can give vince carter dunk package to ray allen and let him do the arm in the rim dunk. just using that for a example but people are crazy enough to do that.
i learn something new and something u should try out but i havent tried it yet but you so distraught that i feel the need to share this. i heard that you can raise a player dunk or layup package, change the package to your desired choice and then return the rating back to the original and he would still have the package you gave him. only thing you cant edit that player again cause it would revert back so make sure that the last edit you doComment

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
You're missing the point. There should be exception logic built into the game to associate a player with their dunk package which allows that player to always have access to their "signature" moves regardless of ratings. This would have no impact at all on other players.Comment

I understand the VC/ Ray Allen thing. But here the problem is VC and Rose, for example, can't be assigned the dunk packages made specifically for them.no you need the rating to justify the package. in that case you can give vince carter dunk package to ray allen and let him do the arm in the rim dunk. just using that for a example but people are crazy enough to do that.

And the latter bit of what you explain is the very definition of a bug, my friend (a programming error with a work around). Besides, what you're suggesting doesn't work.Comment

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
i get what you saying and the OP but you cant design a system to allow one player access to all dunk package with a 74 dunk rating and not allow another player with the same dunk rating access to limited packages. FEEL ME??You're missing the point. There should be exception logic built into the game to associate a player with their dunk package which allows that player to always have access to their "signature" moves regardless of ratings. This would have no impact at all on other players.Comment

Re: Signature Dunk Bug: NBA 2K12
No jtb028 you are wrong. All of these players have their packages on the default roster. It only changes to something else when you edit the player. So there is no problem when you play online about guys having their package cause you are using unedited rosters. All you have to do to test and prove this is to load the default roster take Rose, KG, Ellis or whoever into practice mode and you will see they haitself ve their package. Again it only changes when you edit the player.
Like LCEVO said if you want to edit players for offline use there is a edit trick you can use to give whatever player whatever package you want. Raise the rating to the number needed for the package. Change the package to what you want and then lower the rating back down. Save and exit the screen and they will have what you gave them. Now if you try to edit them again it will change itself to a package the rating will allow.Comment
