I would probably put Tebow at a 70 and Orton at a 75. I'm not sure whether I'd lower Orton's Awareness or Accuracy rating. I'd def lower Tebow's Med and Deep throw Accuracy.

Orton and Tebow's rating
For those who watch the Broncos...how would you rate Orton and Tebow thus far? What specifically would you adjust?

Re: Orton and Tebow's rating
Wish they had a dumb--- rating cause it would be at 100 for Orton...For those who watch the Broncos...how would you rate Orton and Tebow thus far? What specifically would you adjust?

Re: Orton and Tebow's rating
I think this is an excellent post. Madden rates players too high across the board. One of the things that allows NBA2k to differentiate good players from great players on the court is that fewer players have truly elite ratings. Madden just pushes everyone's numbers up to the top and very little separates the players or the teams.Comment

Re: Orton and Tebow's rating
IMO, EA does a decent job with ratings as a whole. I would like to see them tone down the overthrows though. I dont care whether they are starters or 3rd stringers, NFL QB's at any level dont overthrow by 10 to 20 yards!! 2 to 5 maybe. It gets ridiculous to watch after awhile...Comment

I think they do fine within the philosophy that they use. I don't like the philosophy that they use, though.IMO, EA does a decent job with ratings as a whole. I think the right players, for the most part, are rated higher and lower etc. But I think that in general players are too close together. I want 90+ to be reserved for truly elite, top 10% of the league in each skill. Right now, it seems anyone who is decent/good at something in the NFL is a 90+ at that skill in Madden. It waters it down. I think this is why players all feel the same. Use the whole ratings scale.
EXAMPLE-
Peyton Manning does not have a cannon arm. His arm is sufficiently strong, and deadly accurate. But there are players in the league who throw noticeably harder. In madden, he is a 94. There are 45 other QBs in the game with 90+ throwing power. Hardly seems elite. I believe this makes is so that you don't feel the difference playing with a Jay Cutler or Vick who has a cannon arm.
There are 57 RBs and 103 WRs with 90+ speed. That's nearly 2 RBs per team and nearly 3 WRs per team. What it really means that "Elite" speed gets pushed to 95. Now the elite players have a 5 point window in which to differentiate from each other. It's too bunched up.
There are 34 MLBs with 90+ Tackling. 1 per team.Comment
