    Tips for driving

Ive been having trouble getting good looks while driving to the rim, anyone have some tips for me? I can do everything except drive, but then again who can't. Posting up and making 3's are so easy this year.

Act like your driving and either do fake, fake fake up and under or pass it out to the teammate wideopen from the unnecessary doubleteam.

Unlike NBA 2K11 you can't drive into the lane with just anyone and have success.

I have been having some decent success with just the standard crossover. Without using turbo, switching directions this way can open up space for the drive. Of course, the player you're using has to have a decent crossover for this to work.

Just play basketball. No certain move is gnna get you to the rack consistently every time. Read the defense, your match-up, and the spacing. Then attack accordingly. Also try to call isolation plays and get your defender leaning then take him to the opposite side.

I can drive fine it just finishing around the rim this year with in traffic layups seems almost impossible this year.

Im not the type of guy that tries to get into the paint everytime I even out my offensive attack but when I have an open lane and i have the defender beat and when I drive with an elite slasher like a d-rose or a tony parker I rarely finish or get a foul..... (if you have to manually adjust ur mid air layups this year and have any tips to finishing around the rim plz let me know)

The block sucess rate is extremely too high in this game. I was fine with it before but this game my d-rose dunk got blocked by STEVE BLAKE!!!. I even got 1 of my post shots with boozer BLOCKED BY STEVE BLAKE!!!.

Size-up, learn the different size-up and different launches.Every move you can explode with a crossover, behind the back or spin. Try going to practice mode and learning the isomotion system this year. Read the defender is the most important thing about getting to the rim. You do not need a fast player, you just need to know how to use the isomotion system. So I disagree with most of the post here, because a player like James worthy can penetrate the defense and he isn't that fast, same for caron butler.

I'll tell you exactly how to drive, it's not as hard as everyones making out to be. This is the trick: Don't hold on turbo when driving in to the basket. That is all. I've pretty much perfected the art of it. Do a few tricks, get your man off balance and then when you accelerate hit turbo but let go immediately after the first step of acceleration and then just run to the basket without turbo for the layup.

                      Re: Tips for driving

Pick and rolls are always a good start. If you can get your man to trail you a bit comin off the pick attack the rim or dish to the open man.

I can get to the rim at will with D.Rose with size ups and iso.Its really about watchin your defender and how he's playin you.Ive seen alot of guys online that just be button smashin pullin off size up moves and then run right into me while im just standin there watchin and waitin.I like to tap LT to start to size up and see how my mans playin me.As soon as i see if he's playin me straight up or shadin me to one side i attack from there with a quick size up move. You can really explode out of alot of theses moves you just need to learn the players size up moves until they become 2nd nature.

Also once you get past your man a floater (LT+RS away from the basket while your in the paint or close range)is super deadly here.I chunk up a floater more times then i try to lay it up or dunk. Its really helpful because more times then none even when you beat your man someones gonna be waitin on you in the paint.Floaters are quick and really hard to block esp with the top guards in the game.

                      PICK AND ROLL
Learn the iso moves of the guy you attack with most
                      Floaters

Get into scrimmage and just work at all these things and i promise you'll start haven some success driven to the hoop.

I hate pushing turbo, i learned how to really master playing without it in 2k10 by watching how smoothly the cpu was maneuvering around the court because the turbo animations were so ugly, i wish they would have added sig turbo running animations. i just started linking the protect ball animation/post up with not pressing turbo especially when i pick n roll n yes it does work better when u wanna change direction faster ive had a lot of smooth coast to coast highlights, i thought i wuz the only muf who played like this, if i could only learn how to make youtube highlight reels i could show u boys how nasty u can do someone without pressing turbo almost every play looked like a highlight in the sense of how real it looks i have to many saved replays.

I look at what the computer does.

Number one, I rarely see them use turbo, except to dunk, or in the open court...
                            -Dont abuse turbo

Two, they size up, explode, step back shot, or (Here's the trick) hopstep/spin pump fake lay-up... ALWAYS... pump fake under the hoop...

I watch the computer and try to imitate it... Although I cant move fluidly in and out of the paint on MP when I dont have the ball, though they can... and I can't seem to get off the defenders or bump them in and out of the paint in mp when I dont have the ball...
