Before I pick up fifa 12, a couple questions

First, the vast majority of my goals in '11 are scored by sending a winger to the corner to cross the ball. Trying to penetrate the middle of the field is mostly hopeless, and it gets very repetitious. Has this changed in the '12 version?

Second, no matter what I tried I couldn't buy any players in the '11 version. I offered $18 million for a player valued at less than $2 million and it was still rejected. Is it easier to buy players in the '12 version?

    Thanks.

Re: Before I pick up fifa 12, a couple questions

The default gameplay is similar to previous versions of the game even though the pace has been nicely slowed down. The real saving grace this year is sliders. I simply lowered CPU speed and accel sliders and it completely opened up the game from a scoring perspective. I honestly have never been able to score the variety of goals in other versions of FIFA that I have this year. It's really quite cool to see. So IMO, no worries with that one. The other question I can't help you with, sorry.

I've paid between $500k-$2mil over the listed price for a few players. I skipped FIFA 11 so I don't know how it was, but I've had no issues grabbing players in 12.

This year is much better in terms of variety of the game.

You can cross, or if you are in a one on one situation you can pull a skill move and rip past the player to shoot or lob the ball.

I scored 5 goals last night online with Arjen Robben (fast wing player) and each one was scored differently. The skill moves are much more reactive this year.

Goals from outside the box need to be decreased though. It is pretty easy to get the ball at the top of the box and spin around and fire off a goal passed defenders. Its almost as frustrating as getting beat by the "run full speed then cross at the end line for a goal" that you are referring to from last year. Typical button mashing nonsense in a different but as frustrating form.

With transfers it is almost too easy. Essentially every player is for sale if you are willing to pay. I have bought 16-21 year old players in the 70-75 range for "market price" and I have also been able to buy the "stars" of a team like Sergio Aguero or Garreth Bale for a premium. These are players that a team doesn't just give away.

Too be honest I think the transfers is too rapid now. I am playing year 5 of a career and some players like Wayne Rooney are on there 3rd or 4th team.

Looks kind of like the typical EA "overeaction" that they address issues with.

Overall though the game is amazing. Defense takes alot of getting used to and the slower gameplay can get frustrating, but to be honest there is nothing better than playing the guys online who only use Barca and Real, and keeping possesion for 75%+ for the game.

Thanks. I can't figure out how to execute skill moves in '12. How is that done in this version?

It's still pretty difficult vs the AI on anything above Semi-Pro... I still score mostly from corner kicks at Professional... but I'm not that great at the game.

Anyway, you might consider waiting until the first big patch is released if you're still having fun with FIFA 11. Some of the bugs are very very annoying.

Hold left trigger and then use the skill move.

I reworked my controller configuration and had to reset it back to that.

                Thanks.
