Game Speed

Why does everyone trying to play realistic have the game speed and acceleration so low? Has anyone here played hockey at all? It's so damn fast. I mean playing online isn't even bearable because the guys move like they are playing a pickup game outdoor. I just don't get how this is realistic and if anyone wants to explain to me then do it because I am lost in translation.

I mean football players in Madden 12 seem to move faster than players in NHL 12 which is so unrealistic. Well, what I am saying that is if they both started a point and then went full speed hockey would demolish. Pavel Bure was clocked going 35 mph at full speed.

Has anyone witnessed a defenseman take the puck ice to ice? You see how much momentum they have? I see nothing like that in this game whatsoever.

i say in offline use : game speed: 1 and player acceleration: 1/1 or 2/2

all game speed does is accelerate pase of the game so that it look's faster and i also think it eats time on the clock faster

I use game speed 4, player acceleration 1 and attribute effects at 3. I guess it really comes down to camera angle what people are using how fast the gameplay looks like. Mu custom camera is about 75/75/100 so its pretty much like Overhead view. If I would use the Ice cam for example I would propably reduce the speed by click or two...

true =P for longest time i was using : game speed: 6 and player acceleration: 2/2 ^_^

The biggest reason for me personally is the game doesn't play realistically in other aspects with the game speed cranked. Sure it may represent that aspect of the sport better, but EA's game isn't all that realistic to begin with and other areas of the game suffer. I would rather have the rest of the game feel realisitc. Momentum has never been accurately done in EA NHL, which is why I've always enjoyed 2K Hockey. Madden if far from realistic as well for the record

for me, the most realistic settings are a 1 or 2 on game speed and and player acceleration at max or close to it, but i will try this.

what felt realistic to meh was : game speed - 2-3 and player acceleration - 3-4
back in NHL 11 days =P
