Overall is 2k12 worse than 2k11?
Having played 2k12 obsessively for a while now I'm starting to think that this game carries many flaws. Things like driving to the basket, defending the basket, my players trade logic among many many other small issues are all starting to suck the life out of the game. 2k11 may not be as refined in gameplay terms, i.e. smoothness, realism, but as an overall working package 2k11, for me anyway, is probably the better game. So here's a quick poll to see what the community thinks, place your votes.546Yes0%122No0%325Haven't decided0%99Tags: None -
Re: Overall is 2k12 worse than 2k11?
No, technically 2k12 is definitely the better game. It's very similar to 2k11 but with added improvements(the post game is much better, presentation is way better and more realistic, more teams, less morphing). 2k11 i could drive in the lane at will. 2k12 i find myself not getting what i want all the time. HOWEVER, pretty much all of the flaws from 2k11(bad ai, rebounding, horrible passing system, broken my player) have carried over to 2k12, along with some new flaws(players backing off their man for no reason and going in the paint to do nothing, good ball handlers losing the ball for dumb reasons too often like dribbling it off a teammate's leg)
Also you mention trade logic but that was just as broken last year, that' something(like passing and rebounding) that 2k doesn't seem to try to improve because it's been bad year after year.Comment

Its so funny watching all these idiots say their gonna trade in 2k12 and go back to 2k11. Wait for the patch everyone, it will get better.Comment

I respect your opinion but don't refer to us as "idiots" please. Also I'm not trading in 2k12 for 2k11, I'm waiting for the patch.Comment

I think 2k11 had better balance, excluding the hop step and spin dunks.
The new jump shooting and post game makes it impossible for me to go back though. I'm also a fan of the new isomotion, though I'm hoping it's tuned in the patch. There's a bit of a delay when you try to explode out of many of the moves.Comment

It's a better game for sure. It has some glaring flaws, but patches, roster edits and slider adjustments could tone them down a bit.
I know I'm gonna take heat for this, but I'll say it anyway. I wish they would stop adding things or refining things that in their functionality are fine. Like player faces - sure the new ones are cool, but I'd prefer the devs spend more time on the primary issues of fundamental basketball play. The addition of the new shoes and accessories are also good, but they really only half-assed that too. Sneakers still only have very limited (ugly/unrealistic) colorways and accessories is still a mess. How hard is it to make people wear white headbands and armbands at home, really? Like...really.
Instead of adding bells and whistles that really aren't that impressive, why not make it so that crossovers don't send D Rose bouncing off his defender and then sucked into the arbitrary second defender? I'd prefer that over an online association that doesn't even work anyway.Comment

Haven't decided.
Two different games, that is for sure. I was playing NBA 2K11 on Superstar/Sim, and right now I am trying to transition into All Star/Sim on 2K12.
Being I am so used to NBA 2K11, of course I am going to say it is better but it hasn't been even a month yet that I have played NBA 2K12 to make a fair assessment. Slowly but surely, I am learning the game and will become integrated with the game play and NBA 2K11 will be an afterthought. Will NBA 2K11 still be a good game? Yes. In terms of game play, both are great.
I am liking NBA 2K12 a lot more though, especially the ball handling, playcalling system, improved defense - it has a lot more added depth and brings out basketball strategam.Comment

I liked the part where you told them to stop focusing on cosmetic stuff in favour of gameplay, and then went on to whine about sneakers and band colours. It's a better game for sure. It has some glaring flaws, but patches, roster edits and slider adjustments could tone them down a bit.

Only things I miss from 2k11 was the speed of the passes and how quickly the 2K cam rotated. Everything else is better in 2k12Comment
