I've never seen this from a CPU at ALL...maybe from some players I've encountered online, but never from a CPU like this...

Every single shot is an A+. Damn near every single one. There was an instance where I was up by 3 in Overtime and Kevin Martin literally ran from midrange to the 3 point line, turned around, chucked up a 3 with my hand in his face, it read as a D+ shot and it went in. Meanwhile, A+ shots I throw up with Jason Terry in his hotspot continue to clank.

There have been instances where Matt Barnes lit me up with 6 threes in one half...and went 10-12 from beyond the arch at the end of the game. And keep in mind I hit him with PLENTY of double teams, play tights and on-ball D after that third three pointer he hit.

I've encountered MANY cherry picks from the CPU. Of course, if I was playing Miami, I would be cool with it...that's expected...but to see it in the Bill Russell game, many other classic games, is VERY annoying...

Almost EVERY SINGLE TIME I am facing the CPU with on-ball defense, it either turns to three scenarios: 1). I play on-ball D and the CPU runs the clock completely out by dribbling and then tries to shot glitch (and I don't mean just one single pump fake), 2). I let the CPU play defense and they jump with EVERY single hesitation which gives an automatic foul to the opposing team, or 3). I use the right stick to do hands up defense without jumping at all, follow them COMPLETELY with every dribble, and yet they still throw a shot right over me, the screen reads B+ shot and it just drops in the net.

Plenty of cherrypicks, a BUNCH of three pointers, shot glitches from midrange and an ABUNDANCE of fakes from EVERY SINGLE PERSON that enters the post?

Is this just me, or has anyone else been having this? And this is not only on Hall of Fame/Sim...hell, even Hall of Fame Default, which is what I play on the majority of the time...I've seen this stupidity on PRO and ALL STAR. This is just annoying.

I haven't had much of a problem playing any friends of mine, but when it's one-on-one with the CPU and this crap happens, it really just makes me want to stay online.

Yea the cherry picking by the cpu is a little ridiculous. If your a guard and you play my player you better get back once the shot goes up on offense.

It sounds like its you , Try playing on rookie on simulation slider and if you blow them out move on to the level which is pro on simulation if you blow them out again keep moving up until you find a level where the cpu gives you a close game

I've played Rookie/Sim to see if I was crazy, and I don't like winning by 20 every game.

You dont suck. I've had the same experience with out of character behavior from the cpu. You have to change those sliders or adjust some tendencies.

No it's not just you, the comp LOVE to cheese on most of the settings which makes the experience drudgery.

I heard the best settings to play on is Pro and default.

You are 100% right, I just finished playing a game Magic (me) @ Lakers (CPU) I was up by 4 in the fourth and suddenly the CPU just starts sinking 3's, just blowing right past my defenders like they're not even there, and my teammates leave people wide open.

On the other hand I missing layups, wide wide open 3's with perfect release. And so I end up losing by 5. It's just so annoying and frustrating, I hate when I play a videogame and feel like I get cheated by a computer algorithm that decides that the CPU will win.

It's just not you or me, this is a problem and of course there is gonna be some people who say play rookie or w/e. But this was not as big of an issue last year which is this year. A game should rarely feel unfair.

Just showing how funny the game can be. This is how the CPU 4th quarter comeback works when 2k decides to flip the switch.

Up by 10 going into the 4th. I started 0-8(called time/made adjustments) CPU started 6-8 with contested shots and those(Why the f you leave him open moments). I ended up winning by 10 but I thought the action on screen was hilarious. But stupid crap happens like this way to often.

I dislike posters like above, make it seem like your doing something wrong. Op never mentioned him getting blownout or losing consistently. The game is frustrating and unrealistic on pre slider adjustments. Specially on sim style where every player is Ewing and hakeem.

I have been so frustrated with this game. Last night in an online association game with the game level on pro.

I was up 16 midway through the 3rd quarter. I was feeling good... I had never ever coached so much in my life during a NBA2K game.. making sure guys were doing what they were supposed to be doing as far as on the defensive end and playing GREAT defense.

Then the bottom fell out. All of a sudden my computer teammates just started doing unprompted things.. playing man.. they would leave their man to go and try and double someone at the top of the key. All of my settings was set not to double or help on defense.. but yet I started getting torched for wide open 3's and it seemed like there was nothing I could do about it.. and I am 100% an on-ball defender, I was literally fighting to keep that wandering player on his damn man.

Of course... on the offensive end.. I am missing wide open jumpers and gimmies in the front of the rim.. I know that nothing is guaranteed.. but the misses was almost unreal... then little guards blocking PF's and C's with 2 hands for clean blocks.. I was not getting any calls. Needless to say by early 4th quarter the computer caught back up and eventually took the lead.

I ended up keeping it close the rest of way... then with 12 seconds left coming out of a timeout at half court.. with a chance to tie or go for the win. I call a play .. making just a simple pass to someone who is virtually maybe less than 5 feet away... that players defender who is playing off that guy.. just jumped in front of the pass.. when in real life he could not have shot up from where he was to steal that pass!

Frustrating to no end!!

Every sports game I have played is like that. Madden,NCAA, Nba 2k, Mlb: The show... There are times where the CPU decides it wants to win and has its way

I almost made a post about this same topic. What serttings are you playing on? I've been trying to play on superstar/simulation settings to get better at this game, but so far it just seems like it makes the CPU jusr full of cheese.

I've tried the Isaiah Thomas challenge 6 times now and have lost every single game by 4 or fewer. The computer is just unreal on these settings. I can't get by anyone with Isaiah, even if there's a mismatch. My main gripe is with what the CPU does on the other end. EVERYONE on the Bulls are perfect at those flick flick shots. They are almost impossible to defend. And when I try to let the CPU guard these flick flick shots, Paxson literally drew 4 fouls on Isaiah by the end of the 3rd quarter. I can't even catch up to Horace Grant leading a fast break, while the CPU always catches up to me with whoever Im leading the break with.

If the CPU wants a bucket, it's gonna get it, be it using a spin move with John Paxson to get an and-1 or whatever. Jordan has lifted off from the free throw line on the break 3 times in my 6 games. I mean really?
