I think it is.
When a QB's DPP drops, he does play worse. Even the User QB has more stuff go wrong.
Then if you get a TD pass, it climbs back up. Even the commentary notes it.
I just played a game where Freeman was looking bad early, got sacked 3 times in the first half, and he was wild. Then he got a long pass TD. After that, he was money when I had him throw.
Likewise for Cam Newton - in reverse. He started off hitting every pass. Then he got into scramble mode after a couple hits. Wasn't too bad at first, then he dropped to Paranoid and Trigger Happy. Late in the game, he forced a pass into triple coverage and it got picked. He started out at 73% completion and ended up at 50%.
It has impacts.
Works this way for HBs too. They fumble, their DPP drops off. Commentary notes it, and you can see it in the performance. He just goes down, might stop fighting for yards (also a DPP trait) - but if he can get into the end zone - it goes up, letting recover some of his moxie.
