Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty

#1 Missouri vs Texas (1-2)
In 2007 when the Missouri Tigers defeated the #2 Kansas Jayhawks it marked the end of a drought that had lasted 47 years. That drought was being the #1 team in the nation.
Six years later the Tigers are not only #1, they are the best team in the nation. After soundly defeating #2 Michigan the Tigers will take on unranked Texas.

Not much needs to be said about the Tigers. They are a one dimensional team with a pass-first spread offense and a killer rush defense. Their secondary is solid but not great, and their rushing game is similar. However, no other team in the nation is as solidly put together as the Tigers are.

Texas is a solid team, filled with 4 and 5 star recruits. They suffered two hard setbacks this year, a 36-26 loss to BYU where they led until late in the 4th quarter, and a 24-22 los to Baylor two weeks ago on a last second field goal.

For Missouri this is their “break week”, with #15 Oklahoma State and #13 Oklahoma and #30 Baylor coming up next. TTU and Iowa State are the only teams besides Texas that Missouri has left on their schedules with losing records. Missouri is a 2 TD favorite; however, Texas is loaded with talent and don't forget how the talent loaded and underrated Texas team in 2010 defeated the undefeated and national championship hopeful Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Other big games:
Vanderbilt (2-1) at #3 Auburn (5-0)
#25 South Carolina (2-2) at #17 Ole Miss (4-0)
#18 Michigan State (5-0) at #4 Iowa (4-0)
Maryland (4-0) at #5 Virginia Tech (3-0)
Kansas State (3-0) at #13 Oklahoma (3-0)
