I never appreciate something til I take a hiatus...

After a two year break, I popped in 2k5 tonight and played a quick game......

Man, did I miss this game! Everything----from the presentation and commentary (of course), to the foot planting, to the camera angles, and the closeups of the RIGHT players after a big play. Amazing how this game still looks and plays after 7 years!

Quick example---my qb, Quinn, (Cleveland; using a roster from 2009) tried to scramble then throw off-balance. It looked incredibly real; the pass even floated incomplete with no "oomph"......nice!

I thought for sure I'd retire it and get m12, but being a PS3 owner, the graphic issues and constant rain games made me second-guess that decision.

Sure, the graphics here are old, but with progressive scan on, the only jaggies I see are from the behind-the-back camera.

    Replays and zoom-ins are nice.

Guess I'm back; ignore my respnse in the "Is 2k5 your game this year" thread.....lol.

I'm with you. Just played NFL 2k5 as part of my 24 hour gaming marathon, and now I'm back playing it a day later. I sold this game twice in the past (within 2 years of owning the game), but I'm glad I made sure to have a copy before it got too old. It's just too good sometimes. I'll always go back to it at some point, I'm never going to sell it again.

I stopped playing NCAA 12 and went back to this game. Even though I have some new games, I still try to find time to play 2K5.

I am back to 2k5 as well. I went to Half Priced Books the other day and found this gem for Xbox for $2. Well worth every penny...

It truly is something I took for granted I never played 2k5 until 2008, when I was finally fed up with how stale madden was getting. I had Madden 05 and had played madden for years so I never looked towards the way of 2k ( plus madden 05 was a pretty good game in its own right).

But now I am hooked on this game, haven't bought a madden since 08. The little things are amazing to me. I don't know if I skipped it but I surprised there is not a "Little things thread", because this game has so many.

I'm just the opposite, afte playing nothing but 2k5 since it came out, I'm now leaning towards Madden. I was getting a bit bored with 2k5, I might play both.

After playing several seasons of NCAA 12 I have come back to 2K5 and instead of downloading an updated roster I did a fantasy draft with the original roster.

When I'm finished playing out the 1988 season (I'm in week 14), I plan to start a "greatest players" draft and play that out. I will start with Warpath's roster and add in a few guys I think should be in there since he made it (taking out some of the really old-timers I don't know too well).

I plan to post all the coverage on an offshoot of my website and update here, so others can follow the action week to week. It should be pretty in-depth, with possible game or at least weekly highlight video as well.

I'm looking forward to it, but I have to finish the season I started first.
