PC Download question
Is there a better option than Origin to download FIFA 12? Seems like from some of the posts here and on the EAsports forums that Origin is really buggy. I have looked all over for the actual dvd game in stores but noone is carrying it this year. I bought a wired Xbox controller last night which works great with the demo. Looking forward to playing the full game tomorrow. Just don't want to get it from Origin if there are so many problems.PS3 gamer Tag: Jeff82775Tags: None -
Re: PC Download question
The only problem I had with Origin is it doesn't have a play-offline option like Steam. Every time you start the game up, it forces you to go online to play. So I just shut off my internet connection by hitting F2 on my laptop before starting; the game screams that it can't find an internet connection and tells me I need to connect to EA's servers, but then let's me in to play offline. Take that you stupid, ha!Last edited by peigone; 10-27-2011, 09:30 AM. -
Re: PC Download question
I went everywhere looking for the PC version in the retail box and could not find it. I finally broke down and bought a copy for the XBOX 360. I prefer PC games when they are available for a title.Gamevid4 |videos by DCAL |

Re: PC Download question
The PC download version was available day 1, and available for pre-order weeks before release. No disk scratching, no muss, no fuss! No parking hassles or dealing with pushy people in the mall -- just sit at home in your comfy computer desk chair and let the game come to you!

Re: PC Download question
I downloaded it last night. $16 for such an amazing game is a steal! No problem with origin downloading or playing the game. Runs great in 1080p with everything turned up to max.Comment

Re: PC Download question
It's on sale through Origin for $16 for the download version obviously. It popped up as a special offer when I started the origin client last night.Comment

Re: PC Download question
Quick question regrading the download, once I download it do I always have to play it on the computer I downloaded it to? What if I save the file initially to an external hard drive, can I then play it on a different computer in the future?Comment

Re: PC Download question
The game installs via Origin, no idea if there's a limit to how many PCs you can install it on. After the install, you can play it offline by shutting off your internet connection, otherwise you're forced to go online each time to play. Don't know if any of that info helps.Comment

Re: PC Download question
Thanks Pegione, my xbox died on me so I was looking into the pc version. I downloaded the demo but I'm not sure my system can run it adequately. Right now I'm contemplating a new system build, I'm just not sure if I want to go down that rabbit hole right now.Comment

Re: PC Download question
I should mail you mine.
It's collecting dust, packed away since last January when I bought a new PC. I basically only play soccer games now, and I want to be able to mod them. PES 2011 for example was a great game, but only after modding. Wouldn't have been able to play the Xbox version because the only thing that saved that game for me was a global editor and gameplay patch I picked up on EvoWeb. But I use my laptop for everything including watching tv/movies. So for me it made sense.
Anyway, I'm guessing Origin works the same as Steam where you can download and play the games you purchased, on more than one PC. But I think Steam limits how many PCs you can do that with, so I imagine Origin is the same. You'd just have to install Origin on each PC. And you can easily transfer game files and game saves from one to the other and play on either PC.Last edited by peigone; 11-08-2011, 02:40 PM.Comment

Re: PC Download question
I was going to buy it on pc and play on an existing pc but I downloaded the demo and it's runs but it's pretty unplayable. I'm going to build a new rig, I'm getting a bit off topic but what are your specs? If you don't mind me asking.
All the modding is very intriguing which is why I'm sort of biting my lip and going on with the build even though just replacing the xbox would be much cheaper. My 5 year old laptop died on me too, like 2 days before the xbox. two birds, one stone is how I'm selling it to myself.Comment

Re: PC Download question
what is your current rig ? i havent upgraded mine in 2 or 3 years, but it runs everything smoothly.
also google "can you run it" and search for fifa 12. it will analyze your computer and tell you what you need to upgrade. which can help you save a few bucksLast edited by eyeamg0dly; 11-10-2011, 02:02 PM.Comment
