Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
I care more about improved AI and programming in general than improved graphics. That and some fresh ideas instead of same ole same ole rehashes.Joshua:

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
The media the games arrive on needs to change or how the games are installed. Load times are old fashioned and need to go away. The more data they put on the discs the longer it will take to load (presumably). So unless they can expedite read times on the discs in some way, installing games to the hard drive completely might be the way to go. Essentially im asking them to make a PC console hyrbrid thing...
The price tag of games is more concerning. Do they dare charge $70 for a game?Comment

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
It wouldn't surprise me at all. The hardware inside the 360 is getting a little old. I don't doubt that games can look nicer, as the real problem is textures. I'd be happy if the amount of detail a PC game has set on high/very high could be ported over.
This will be the kicker. How much for a game?, Could you carry your Xbox Live account, points, and DLC over? If you have bigger, nicer looking games, they'll require more space than a DVD.Last edited by LambertandHam; 10-29-2011, 12:52 PM.Comment

I think Developers want a new system ASAP. You already see 360 games have to be on Multiple disks because of the limitation of the DVD format.follow me on twitter: www.twitter.com/eton_riflesComment

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
I think most want better hardware in general than extra disk space. I mean PC games on 1 disk look and play better due to HW not disk space.
Either way the extra space sure wont hurt IF in fact the space is used and not wasted for the first 2-3 years of the next gen.Joshua:

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
Im very excited about this, and also not, for one, getting a new system is always badass, new games, better graphics, bigger hardrive, new feautures, but what sucks is the cost, and all the old memories of previous systems, hell i still even plug in my SNES to play some Super Mario Bros here and there.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,

Next Xbox to be smaller & cheaper than 360...
Microsoft may be keeping quiet about development of the next generation Xbox, but a couple of crucial aspects of the console have surfaced by way of reputable Microsoft leak blogger MS Nerd.
The Xbox 720, as it has become commonly referred to as, is allegedly codenamed "loop," and will be much smaller than the Xbox 360. Moreover, MS Nerd claims the system will cost less to produce in the hopes for achieving higher Kinect adoption.*In addition, the console will be based on a modified version of the yet-to-be-announced Windows 9.
MS Nerd continues by stating that*"It will use a Zune HD-like hardware platform—a* 'main' processor with multiple dedicated assistive cores for graphics, AI, physics, sound, networking, encryption and sensors. It will be custom designed by Microsoft and two partners based on the ARM architecture."
Microsoft has yet to divulge in any information regarding their next console, although it is rumored that it will be revealed next year at E3.

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
If it indeed will be cheaper to produce I wonder what the starting price point might be. I hope they're smart enough to keep the price reasonable, $5-600 + is definitely too high for the average console buyer, the ones mainly buying for their kids. It would be nice to see a $300 price point with at least 250gb hdd.Comment

Re: Report: New Xbox to Launch in 2013
Well known Windows blogger Paul Thurrott spoke briefly about rumors surrounding the next generation Xbox on the latest episode of “This Week In Technology” (or TwiT). Thurrott has been known to break stories regarding upcoming Microsoft products well in advance of their public acknowledgement but this is usually limited to Microsoft’s operating systems and office products.
According to Paul the next generation Xbox is currently codenamed “Project 10” and has a projected released date of holiday 2012. He further speculates that Microsoft will have to unveil the console at the Consumer Electronics Shows in Las Vegas this January but other sources have said that the device will be unveiled to the public at E3 in June. Mr.Thurott believes that Microsoft will take the “Apple Approach” of including cross over functionality with Windows 8 PCs, Tablets and Phones. Perhaps Microsoft is also taking a page from Apples playbook in regards to products being available a short time after their announcement?
“The interesting thing about it [the next xbox] is that it is going to come for holiday next year. They would almost have to announce it at CES [Consumer Electronics Show] next year. They are going to the Apple route to ensure that it integrates with Windows 8 and Windows Phone."
To hear Paul’s thoughts on the next Xbox head on over to Twit and start playing at 1:28:00.
What is your take on the next generation Xbox? Is 2012 too soon? Has the Xbox 360 finally hit its stride?
