Discovered EASY FRANCHISE TRADES!! must see!

ok, so everyone and I mean everyone knows this franchise as well as last year is frustratingly hard to make trades. But I found a solution...and call it cheating if you want, but i'm sure i'm not the first to figure it out for a SOLUTION not cheating... I don't cheat it's a computer...

here's the solution...have your franchise settings to edit player turned ON...

and raise or lower the player you're wishing to trade for and boom...that way 1st 2nd and 3rd round picks are actually worth something now...and just remember the player's stats and turn them back to default rating once back on your roster...easy day...

now i'll hear complaints all year from you guys...but honestly, would a team really turn down 3 first round picks ALL IN OVERALL TOP 15 for Haloti Ngata, Legarrette Blount, or TJ Ward by themselves!!!! seriously??? no, i think not, so here's my solution...and yes i give them high rated players in exchange, so it's not cheating...end of story, and solution TO ALL, ALL of OUR problem thanks to the moron developers...

Another way is to change the position of the player(s) involved to something where they have a horrible OVR... then you don't have to adjust ratings. Then switch their position back once the trade is complete.

hahaha..yep that'll work too...shortcut indeed...BUT, people will EXPLOIT that, and that becomes cheating, i'm at least giving the CPU even trades or at least ONES that would be accepted in real life OR in Madden 10 last time trades actually worked!!

So you just edit the player ratings to whatever you want and then make trades for whatever you want. And you're claiming to have discovered this? Most people would consider it common sense that editing players' ratings would make trading them easier.

I don't think any method is better then 32-team control and having an unbiased football knowledge...you shouldn't have to edit a damn thing to make a reasonable trade if u can put on ur GM cap and ask yourself *would this trade go down in real life*?

I think the trading is great that you can't just go out and get whoever you want. I think changing anything to manipulate the computer to get what you want is cheating. Even if you give up a lot to get what you want. Besides that, who in their right mind would trade 3 1st round picks for Ngata, Blount or Ward? None of those guys are worth 3 1st round picks, but I guess if you are crazy enough to do it, then have at it.

Why even bother to "trick the CPU" like this? Why not just edit everyone on your team to be 99 OVRs?

Normally I'd agree, but you saw Palmer go for a 1st and future 2 that could turn into a 1, Santonio Holmes for a 5th a few years ago...Value is very widely subjective by team/owner/coach, hence why "realistic" AI isn't a realistic term.

im actually happy its more difficult to trade now. i remember in like madden 09 you could get pretty much any player you wanted for a 1st round pick. if you want to do this then go ahead, but i do not see the point in editing people down just to get them for cheap. like somebody else said, you might as well just edit everyone on your team up to 99s

Some trades are too easy on this game already. e.g. i traded andre gurode for lawrence timmons plus draft picks (3rd and 4th i think).

                      And your method is cheating

That trade is laughable even w/o the draft picks.....

in real life there's a variety of circumstances that are not rampant in Madden like off-the-field issues in Santonio's case, in Palmer's case a guy who just didnt wanna play there anymore....That's why u dont see trades go down often...even more so with big-name players......outside of financial reasons/injury concerns there's not much to think about in Madden....i bet u can bring T.O in on a 1-year deal and he'd put up respectable numbers for u......Either way, the idea that the OP brought up is not realistic

                            And that's the real shame.

EA wants to add ratings for stuff (see: Swagger of M11), how about a Character rating that impacts the chances of players getting in trouble over the offseason/during the season.

That and morale and having morale impact performance (so a guy who's a constant distraction [which would be a good new role to go with this idea] would drop team morale and you'd/the AI might get rid of him for something to clear out the "locker room cancer").

Then, maybe then we can start to see real life situations like those get simulated in the game.

Yeah the Steelers ingame are desperate to get rid of Timmons for some reason, just as well as the Eagles will do anything to give away DRC. If you're lucky you can just sign some FA at a position of need for them and trade him.

I think it has something to do with them having players with higher OVR at the same position. For example, the Vikings in Year 2 of my franchise were giving away an 79 OVR A potential rookie DT they'd just drafted in the second round for some mediocre aging players.

The player roles help a bit with limiting such cases, because some players will get roles that keep the CPU from trading them and it actually tries to get them to start after a year or two, but unfortunately it doesn't work for all players.
You gotta have Hope! (My Minnesota Vikings franchise)

After an incredible 2012 season ends with a Super Bowl win, Hope Turner and her Vikings are trying to prove that their performance was more than just a one-shot.
