I don't think I can really answer your first question since I play point and rarely dunk at all.. But I'd suggest upping your layup/dunk abilities. Don't be mad if I'm wrong.. Lol :P

I believe your rookie contract is 3 years with a team option. I basically simmed my first mp just to get a look at things and after my second season I was a Free Agent. I hope there's some kind of resign logic for MP mode for users. I'm averaging a monster double double in my rookie season, and don't wanna have to play 2 or 3 seasons to get a new contract.

Dunking on people seems a bit random at times, could depend on the dunk selection you choose when you flick the right stick in a certain direction. Also the playstyle also plays a role...do you play casaul default or sim? Simulation will be the hardest to get a facial dunk but default is easier. As for your rookie contract its a 2 year contract. So you should be able to negociate after the 2nd season, I don't think my player has the team option for your contract

Also, if you play on simulation I find it really hard to dunk on fast breaks so if you want less contact on fast breaks/driving try default. You will see way less contact but the game become more fast paced and less fouls will be called.

I play on default game style, but still no facials. I'm going to try and up his strengh and see if that gives him the ability to power through contact and get to the rim. It doesnt say anything about strenght having an effect on dunking ability, but it only makes sense seeing as I have upgraded everything I could think would play a factor. Thanks for all your responses I'll let everyone know after I play a few more games and get some skill points to play with.

Dunking on people is random, but I notice when I play online or head to head I get the right angle easily. I'll dunk on somebody like 4 times by the end of the game. But when playing the CPU everything has to be perfect.....or use LeBron.

Do you have a dunk package? Or do you pick custom dunks? Or... do you have both?!?!

If dunk package, like (L.James, Flight White), Then it may be harder to do traffic dunks... Thus, it's better to just pick custom dunks and custom dunks only...

If you have both, there is some sort of conflict, and he will just lay it up...

So make your own custom dunks in the list in "Edit Player"... And I believe you will see a lot more facials... Oh, and try getting your strength to 80... but do what I suggested, and tell me if you see a diff... same with strength, which I seem to be getting to the line more, with a high strength attribute...

I'll try checking out my dunk package I really dont know which one I have. I thought you had to buy them in MyPlayer and I haven't brought any of them. I will check out my sig dunks and do what you said and see if it make a difference. Its going to take awhile for me to get my strength up that high.

I just got my MP PG enough dunk stat to start dunking (I think it kicked in around 45 or 50) and gave him the Rimgrazer package. It's important that he have some type of package for sure because where before in the Dribble Course he would always lay it in, just giving him the Rimgrazer package has him dunking it. He doesn't get a lot of breakaway dunks but I am getting maybe two or three in games that go well.

Part of your problem is that dunking is just harder to do against the CPU this year for myriad reasons that are covered elsewhere and that people have been trying to fix with sliders. You can't do that in My Player though. The CPU is just way too good at reading and reacting to what you do like it's psychic.

One thing that might help is switching up your offense more. I found I couldn't hit threes and that once I started trying to drive the lane more, both my jump shots and my drives got better. Don't do one thing exclusively. Mix it up.

Hey does anyone know if they mention your name/show your highlights during halftime this year?

And do they mention you if you lead the league in a category, or do they skip over you and talk about a real-life star like last year?

These two things were so annoying to me in 2k11. -_-

I tried getting rid of the dunk package and that didnt go well at all I was able to get enough SP to get my strength up to like 57 so next couple of games it should be higher and I'll let everyone know how that goes.

@gho5twolf my player is actually a PG, but he's on the Bulls so I run SG. His outside and inside jumpers are pretty good so I catch the defenders off guard. I see what your saying as well about the cpu telegraphing your actions in MP though pump fakes help ALOT. I upped his steals to like 87 so I'm able to force turnovers and dunk on the break.

They say your name in the commentary. As far as halftime goes it hit or miss. A couple games I have had like 30 pts and 7 boards, but they didn't say anything. But there has been times where I had a lot of steals or blocks and they mentioned me.

I led the league in points and they didnt say anything about it ingame just about d rose who was right behind me.

Aw man what a let down. It's crazy how they add so much but overlook the little things. If I have a big game, or am having the best game among my peers and we're leading, i should get the mention/highlight during halftime, everytime.

And never mentioning me when I lead in a category is soooo annoying lol

I havent bought 2k12 yet, might wait til 2k13 because of this(yea...it's that big of a deal for me lol)

As far as mentioning you in halftime shows it still relatively the same...same with the league leaders stuff like last year...created players (my player included) still don't have much or any recognition in this game much like last year, they are pretty neglected when it comes to commentary. My player just ads a few lines directed toward your character but other than that he is still pretty neglected, which is a huge let down.

Yea, how no one at 2k has thought of adding more commentary geared towards my created player in My Player is baffling. It's not fun when commentators act like i dont exist
