This Game is so Much Easier Using the 2Kcam

Let me preface this by saying I've been using the broadcast camera for the last 5 years or so. I thought I would try it "out of the blue" after watching a youtube video. Here are my observations, anyone feel the same way?

1) It's soooooooooo much easier to play defense. To stay in front of the offensive player. Moving left to right with the stick vs. up and down in broadcast cam.

2) Passing is easier too. You see up the floor and don't feel inclined to make passes that would get tipped or stolen in any side angle camera. Passing into the post is easier as well. I'm more patient to pass in to the post when it does not look like it will get deflected. I cut down my turnovers more than half in the three games that I played last night.

3) This is the biggest one for me. I don't know exactly what it is, but while playing lobby rats via quick connect I felt more inclined to not push the pace. Use 20 seconds off the clock no matter how much I was "baited" into a fastbreak bonanza.

4) I looked at gametrack to see my shot charts and I took shots from almost everywhere on the floor then I looked at my opponents and you guessed it in the paint or three's only (rolls eyes).

I could be going crazy, anyone else notice these benefits or others. And if you have not tried it or have not for years like me, I encourage you to do so.

My 2kcam settings:

Zoom = 4
Height = 1
Zoom Lane = On
Fixed = Off

I came to think this too about a week ago or so. I move the ball a hell of a lot better and from a strategic standpoint I think I make better decisions. But broadcast is my baby so occasionally throughout the game I gotta go back to her.

The last few years I've played on 2KCam for the first month or so, for whatever reason I find it easier to get comfortable with the new controls and nuances of the game. Scrimmages on 2K Cam are a rite of passage at this point.

Once I'm comfortable with everything I go back to Broadcast.

yea couple years ago i tried out 2k cam and found that i played so much better that way, plus you can see the details of the players more. But with this years game, and the tv style broadcast cameras and unique cameras for each arena i'm finding myself playing with broadcast even though i'm better with 2k cam.

The other day I thought I noticed when you switched cameras during the game... did you?

Also for the OP, try 2k cam with Zoom 6, Height 2, the rest on the default. It gives you more detail (graphics) while being able to see the separation in height differences in the players, while at the same time giving you a more 'personal' feel to the game.

I just wish their was some rotation of the camera when the ball swings to the 45 or the corner (like the drive cam) but not so much of a turn to help with the baseline.

Gotta say I find it a lot easier to play with 2k as well but this year I switched to broadcast. The game looks so much better ... well when I get frustrated with an oponent I usually switch back to 2k and get a run.

2K cam is like easy mode for me. I struggle against the cpu on Pro Sim on broadcast cam, while on 2K cam I can beat the cpu on All-Star Sim by 20 with regularity.

With that said, I still play on broadcast. It can't be beat in terms of visuals.

I love 2K cam...and the zoom to the key feature is nice.

Only gripe...blind spots pop up when the ball goes to one side or the other.

I find 2K cam to be harder to play with in terms of transition defense. If i take a mid/long range jumpshot with one of my guards and i know its gonna miss i try to immediately start pushing my stick back so that i can get back on defense. Problem is i end up 10 steps behind because my guy is either not moving, or moving to the left or right and getting waaaay out of position. Anybody else experiencing this and have some tips? CPU fastbreak points are killing me

I love the 2k cam at 10 zoom and 10 height the only thing i wish they patch is on a turnover the cam takes forever to turn i rather they do it like madden and pause the game until the cam has turn

I've always played with drive cam. Surprised more people don't use this. I believe it's similar to 2k cam but zoomed in closer. It takes some getting used to on transition to offense following a turnover, as you tend to break the wrong way. Other than that, it's great.

I absolutely hated 2K Cam for years. I still don't like it very much, but I can actually watch someone play without complaining about it now. The game plays a bit different as well while playing in 2K Cam.

It is a bit easier being that the controls are based on that view (I think). I'm used to playing on Broadcast so staying in front of my player or maneuvering around to shake my defender isn't as difficult for me now as it as when I first got 2K12.

I guess for me, Broadcast is a bit more friendly to me in terms of blind spots. Also, I like Broadcast because it makes me feel like I'm watching a live game on TNT.

Just finished a tough but delightful game with Z6 H2 on 2K Cam as suggested here earlier. I think I'll be switching between Stadium Broadcast and 2K a lot more often now
