What is going on???!!!!

For some reason, when I drop back to pass, the game will automatically throw the ball to my SQUARE receiver (the guy on the left) sometimes. It happens when I haven't pressed any buttons at all. I just drop back and sometimes, my QB will just throw the ball. I don't know if my controller is broken or if I'm pressing the analog stick too hard and it makes him throw the ball. It is ALWAYS the square receiver which leads me to believe it is one of those two options. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I just played a game and this nonsense made me throw like 6 incomplete passes and an interception and I don't know what's going on.

Do you have Coach Mode on?
QB will throw automatically if you don't do anything other than hike...

One of my friends use to have this same issue on Madden 10 and 11 during our offline franchise.. We could never figure out what the problem was because it only happend to him.. I haven't seen him play on 12 yet because he moved out of town but I'm sure he would have the same problem if its happening to you.. I really don't know what the problem was. We had to actually get a battery operated controller just for him because it didn't happen with a battery controller for some reason. So that is the only advise I can give you if this continues to happen..

Make sure coach mode is off. Sometimes even when you take control of the QB right away with coach mode on it will just throw a pass real quick on you. I have had this happen to me a few times. If thats not it then I agree that your controller is messed up.

Yeah we did.. It only happened to him. I don't know what he was doin to cause that to happen so we plugged in one of the battery controllers I had and it didn't happen anymore.

I went to practice and messed with it and it is definitely the controller. Whenever I press hard on the left analog stick in any direction, it makes the QB throw the ball to the square WR. If I use it gently, it doesn't happen. Time for a new controller.

We thought that and got a new remote too and it kept happening to him. Something he was doing was triggering it but once we plugged in that battery operated controller it didn't happen to him anymore. I don't know what he was doing but I'm glad I didn't have that problem. Haha

i have been having this issue on ncaa all year. it doesnt happen to me on madden, but on ncaa my qb will randomly throw to the l1 receiver, or r1 (throw away) for no reason and my fingers are nowhere near the bumper buttons. then sometimes when im running, the player will randomly hurdle, dive or spin.

this happens with all my controllers so it has to be something im doing as a user. maybe a heavy analog thumb causes problems int he controller?

I guess so. I went to Practice and tried different things with it. But I could only get it to throw to the Square receiver. Maybe both of your analog sticks are acting up and causing problems with multiple buttons. Also, it only happened if I pressed down or to the right. I originally thought it was any direction, but just those two. If I press up or to the left, no problems. Either way, there is something wrong with the controller and hopefully you have another one. I would hate to have to buy another controller just to play one of my games.
