Re: any news on a new patch coming?
I'm trying to remember last year. I think we got the third patch in late November. But that was with the game being released on 08/13 instead of 08/30, so maybe mid-December?
I'm wondering if they're ever going to use that tuner set function they installed this year? I thought they could tune the QB accuracy stats, the DE getting more pressure while the DT getting a little less pressure, stuff like that. -
Re: any news on a new patch coming?
Im loving the game, but if they're gonna neglect a feature they so highly touted about pre-release to help resolve issues and stuff without the need for a patch, then I will sit out the next madden until something more concrete is fleshed out.
There are some minor issues with a couple major ones that still need to be addressed and hopefully news of a new patch hits on this and we can be done with patches and finally get some use out of those tuner updates!
Im not even thinking of a madden 13 right now hoping for something to come of these patches or supposed tuner function!Comment

Re: any news on a new patch coming?
The tuners are a set of sliders that can be adjusted to impact various facets of how each game plays. In the case of the "NHL" series, this could be anything from how effective poke checks are to skating speed; basically, wholesale adjustments which impact the way each game plays. Tuner sets, officially released updates to the game's tuners for online play, essentially allow EA to circumvent the lengthy process of having an official title update approved for download. Glitches still need to be patched of course, but tuners offer a quick and easy method for re-balancing online play after release.
from what i found here guess its for online play but even so games going on being out 3 months and theres alot of problems online so is EA saying they dont see what ppl complain about online play?Comment

Re: any news on a new patch coming?
The last patch arrived around the second week of December last year. It tightened up the wide open zone D last year.
Who knows what is being planned? That patch wasn't announced until it was released, it was a surprise to everyone.Comment

Re: any news on a new patch coming?
If anyone out there's listening, my birthday passed about a month ago. I know you guys didn't know, but I'll take a "tuner set" as a belated gift. No apologies needed. Just drop it in right along with the roster update. Cool?"A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he gives up, or if he dies."Comment

Many of us need to understand a patch or tuning is not as easy as you think. This game was already coded, and when you try to correct one thing it can and many times will affect other things in a negative way. In the end making things worst.Im loving the game, but if they're gonna neglect a feature they so highly touted about pre-release to help resolve issues and stuff without the need for a patch, then I will sit out the next madden until something more concrete is fleshed out.

This is why major flaws will need to be addressed in the next installment of the game.
The video game industry has been out for YEARS now and I cannot believe at this time many don't understand how it works.
It takes a great amount of man hours to fix a code and QC it. It is a very tough process.
Some of you guys think it as easy as telling the game to do this instead of that.Simply *Magic* Just click the link and Watch :)

Why dont you check my post history before you go and quote me or others on the hardships of coding for games. WE KNOW!!!!Many of us need to understand a patch or tuning is not as easy as you think. EA came out and said things out of there own mouths about these tuner updates ever since april of this year, they made it seem like it was gonna be simple to them as they related it to us and so have gamers from the NCAA games chimed in on its positive and negative effects.
Dont advertise nothing that you cant back up in the long run, I know the game has been out only a couple months now, but there are things they said tuner updates could fix without the need for a patch.
So please back off, we deserve to know or hear something in regards to this feature as many of us are tired of the gimmicks as that time implementing those gimmicks could have been greatly used elsewhere if its not gonna get used as advertised by the DEVS!Comment

I really don't think you will find that info here. There has been no interaction from developers. The only interaction has bee from the Community Manager direction to a blog regarding patch notes. Why dont you check my post history before you go and quote me or others on the hardships of coding for games. The only info these days seem to come from Twitter or the blog, if any at all. I really don't see that changing.
And to the poster that posted in red, they know about the issue. It was asked to the new creative director a few months ago on a podcast. It seemed it's not something that would be patched, but perhaps looked at for the next Madden.Comment

I know the devs havent interacted on here in a while, I was meaning from their blogs about tuner updates and all and the feedback we got the those is the NCAA community about their experience with it so far.I really don't think you will find that info here. I know patches can do more harm than good sometimes, but we live on a day and age where patches are the norm as opposed to having a flawed game and nothing done until the next installment like on the PS2 back in the day and so on.
They advertised it 2 years in a row and we have seen nothing but patches, its time to tune this game up and the only way to make things simpler and easier is by trial and error!Comment
