(PS3) Moose's All Time Rosters

I've been looking quite extensively lately for All-Time Roster sets for Madden 12. All I have been able to find are XBOX versions from Playmakers and drj32.

SO, I have decided to compile my own roster set to be released for PS3. It is in its very infant phase, but you can track which teams have been completed by accessing the following Google Document.

ANY HELP IS WELCOMED

Folks, I've decided to switch things up a little bit.

Since the wonderful people at Madden don't let multiple players wear the same jersey numbers, I have decided to discontinue doing the All-Time Rosters. I started off with my Bills, and I can't put Jim Kelly or Joe Ferguson in any other jersey than #12...it's just not right.

BUT...I have not stopped creating rosters. I have picked the 1993 season to create. Kelly, Marino, Elway, Favre, Aikman, Young...this was by far one of the best eras in NFL history and just so happened to be when I started getting into football (born in '88). I am also adjusting the players' birthday by adding 20 years, which will make it possible to start a franchise mode with the rosters as well.

Not many people have viewed this thread, so there won't be many to disappoint However, I think this will be much more fun.

That sounds even better, it's always hard to compare and rate players from different era's anyways, and most of the Lions' best players were from the early 90's anyways.

question. how are you going to make historic rosters when them game has a CAP limit? i have tried to create historical rosters myself and ran into walls. create a rosters, export it and try to import into a new franchise and i got an error that was written to tell me it was not possible.

any thoughts?

You make some good points. As far as the CAP limit. I have made about 70 so far and haven't hit the limit yet. When I do, I can just edit the current players to be the historical players.

As far as using it in a franchise. All you have to do is load your roster set and then begin the franchise. You shouldn't have to import or export. The only thing I still have to test is how easy it is to save the roster file on a USB and transferring it to another PS3.

Moose, how are you coming along with this roster? R u able to get much time in? Can't wait for the Jets. Hope you will finish this intense project!!!!!!

Hoping this doesn't turn out to be vapor ware like so many other well intentioned historical sets which never really seem to get completed. It's a daunting process and they don't make it easy for any editor to create classic players and teams.

I am sure the editors have good intentions, but just don't realize just how much work it really is when you are talking about doing possibly over 1000 players.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hello All,

I just got back from my two-week Thanksgiving vacation. Unfortunately, I didn't have my PS3, so I wasn't able to work on the rosters. However, now that I'm back home, I have a lot of free time coming up this week so I should be able to hammer out a few more teams.

I will be starting a new thread that is specifically about my 1993 rosters. I feel like the All-Time Roster title is too misleading.

I hate to disappoint you, but they WILL expect it to be done overnight. Just ignore those people and plug away.

Oh, one other thought too....for teams not in existence during that time, I would recommend stocking their rosters with other players from that time period that were free agents....make them like expansion teams. If you have trouble finding players, don't forget that the WLAF was in existence in 1992. A number of scrubs (think guys like QB's David Archer, Stan Gelbaugh, Babe Lauffenberg) would have been on those rosters on likely not on an NFL roster by 1993. At least this way, you can have real players fill out the Panthers, Jags, Texans, and Ravens. This could help a bit with immersion for franchises.
