I may be imagining this, but didn't early iterations of NCAA allow you to bribe with booster gifts?Tags: None -

Re: Booster Gifts back in the day?
Why didn't they put that back in the game. I used to love the situations you were put in if your all American QB got into a fight or something before a big gameIt's not all about the size of the dog in the fight. It's about the size of the fight in the dog!!Comment

Re: Booster Gifts back in the day?
I am pretty sure that it had to do with the same reasoning that the MLB games no longer let you argue a call, rush the mound, etc. I believe that one of the stipulations to get the MLB and NCAA license is that you have to put your head in the sand and pretend those things are not part of the game; or as they like to put it, not show the negative side of the sport. It would be great to add attitude/morale/behavior atributes to recruiting; you want that 5 star 5'11 215lbs running back with 4.32 speed, behavior issues, low work ethic, etc or do you want that 5'9'' 200lbs 4 star running back with 4.5 speed that may not be the impact player on the field that the 5 star would be but would not have to worry about NCAA issues?Comment

Re: Booster Gifts back in the day?
I just remember that being a pain to me because you had to choose to recruit or discipline, if you focused too much on keeping your guys in line you missed out on not just good but also just decent talent. And I don't think you gave booster gifts, it was discipline.Comment

But even they can't lie those elements make a video more like handling real situations and it wouldn't have any negative effect on how we viewed the NCAA. because come on it's not like we won't hear about worse stuff happening on sports centerI am pretty sure that it had to do with the same reasoning that the MLB games no longer let you argue a call, rush the mound, etc. I believe that one of the stipulations to get the MLB and NCAA license is that you have to put your head in the sand and pretend those things are not part of the game; or as they like to put it, not show the negative side of the sport. your right but the NCAA asked EA to remove this back in day. They didn't want kids to see this. If I remember right thats all there was to it.Comment

Maybe it's just me but wouldn't it be good to show younger folks that play this game if you screw up there is consequences.
Meaning player has bad grade and can't play in this kids next dynasty game.
Kind of a lesson learned type thing. Hope that makes sense.Texas A&M Aggies
