Re: Stanford Cardinal (NCAA 12)

Stanford lands a quartet
Rout of USC puts the Cardinal over the top for four 4* recruits

PALO ALTO, CA - Stanford's recruiting efforts for the 2012 class hit the accelerator in the wake of their 38-point win at USC on Saturday. They entered the weekend with only 4* RB Kevin Purcell and 2* FB Jason Miller on their commitment list, but they exited the weekend with six commitments, as coach Brian Kudron closed the deal on four 4* prospects.

Committing to the Cardinal are inside linebacker Tremayne Simmons of San Clemente (CA), wide receiver Terrance Bradford of Cedar Rapids (IA), offensive tackle James Sanders of Cypress (CA), and cornerback Quinn Fogle of Santa Cruz. Bradford, a 6'0, 188-pound receiver, comes from the same high school that produced former Michigan receiver Adrian Arrington and current Iowa receiver Keenan Davis. Simmons, a hulking 6'0, 248-pound brickhouse of a linebacker, picked Stanford over Michigan and USC, and is the 3rd-ranked inside linebacker in the country. Sanders, the 9th-ranked offensive tackle, chose the Cardinal in a close battle over Wisconsin, and will arrive on campus right around 300 pounds. Fogle, a tall, physical corner at 6'1, 180, favored Oklahoma for much of the process, but vaulted Stanford to the top of his list in recent weeks, and finally committed.
