BLAZERS ARRIVE:
UAB LANDS IN PASADENA, BEGINS PREPARATIONS FOR BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

(FIRST TEAM ALL SEC DEFENSIVE LINEMEN #77 KAREEM KIRBY, #91 MARCUS LEAK, AND #55 TOM COX HOPE TO GET A HOLD OF HEISMAN WINNER JOSE ASHLEY)

PASADENA, CA - The UAB Blazers arrived in Pasadena on Thursday to begin preparation for next Thursday’s BCS National Championship game against Iowa.

The Blazers will hold their first of six practices at UCLA where both teams will split time at their practice facilities.

Everyone made the trip for the Blazers except sophomore receiver Matt Ford who is nursing a rupture disk in his back. Running back Matthew Scott who pulled his groin against Florida has been cleared to play and will split carries with Marcus Rutledge.
" The guys are excited about the upcoming opportunity to play." We watched some great football games the past week, we're also letting the guys go to tonights rose bowl game between Oregon and Maryland so the guys can get that itch back."
The Blazers are no strangers to big games as they were in the BCS title game a season ago in Miami but sqaundered the win giving up a NCAA championship game record of 8 rushing touchdowns and over 400 yards passing. Time will tell if the Blazers have fully erased that memory.
