    Madden's Forgettable Five Over Seventy-Five

While there are plenty of overlooked players rated under 75 who can be studs in Madden 12, there are just as many duds rated over 75.

These are the guys who you think should be solid contributors on your team, but who end up dragging your cyber squad down.

    BenJarvus Green-Ellis!

(Who I recently found out is nicknamed "The Law Firm." .......Even though I find the nickname hilarious, he seems to get stuffed in the backfield a lot on my Patriots.)

I would add John Abraham, Reggie Bush, The entire Bengals team(except for AJ and Red Rifle), Most defensive Tackles, and The Eagles(except for Mccoy). All overrated.

I'd have trouble saying Reggie Bush. He is fast and agile, I like that as a Wildcat, Punt Returner, Kick Returner, 4th-5th WR, and even as a running back.

Shouldn't the "Forgettable Five over 75" be the last five versions of Madden which have all gotten ratings over 7.5, which is equivalent to a 75 rating? The last five versions have all been rated that high and have complete duds.

So my "Forgettable Five over 75" Would be Madden 08, 09, 10, 11, and 12.

Blount is a beast. When I play AGAINST him. He usually tops 2000 yards at some point down the road in franchise as well.

I have no issue running with Green-Ellis... as long as you keep him between the tackles his speed isn't really an issue. He never breaks off huge runs, but I get a lot of 8-9 yard runs and very rarely lose yardage.

If you need to run to the outside, just sub in one of the faster backs like Woodehead, Vereen, or even Ridley.

Completely disagree with Tampa's Mike Williams (he was the only guy I could count on the year before last in my franchise and earned the Offensive Playmaker role.) Getting negative DPP sucks on him, but I always try to use a good pattern to get him open in the red zone since a TD catch will push his DPP back up.

Also disagree with Blount. He, too, picked up Offensive Playmaker, and racked up quite a few yards. That year my offense was literally just Freeman, Williams, Blount. Went 10-6 and won the Super Bowl.

Barber, I kind of agree with, though, even at Corner, I just get more ZCV CBs and made a Zone Heavy playbook and he was fine as along as I called good zones and got a pass rush.

I feel like Greg Little and Josh Cribbs deserve more respect, they are both becoming good receivers. Receiver isn't either of their nature position, so everyday is a learning experience.

Reading this list, it looks like Master Chief Syndrom creeping in.

"Why can't I make that throw?! I should be able to make that throw!!!"

The ratings in Madden, like or dislike, force you to play up to them.

Reggie Bush is a perimeter runner. His tackle breaking is low, his BCV is low, his carrying is low.
Therefore, he shouldn't be running between the tackles trying to find holes against guys with 80-99 tackling.

He needs to be outside running in open space where BCV isn't as important an tacklers are in the 50-79 range and he has less chance of fumbling.

This article IMO reflect the general lack of knowing football that 90% of players have.

"Ronde Barber gets beat deep and in man to man".
No crap Sherlock. He is a Cover Two corner, but it sounds like the writer of this has no idea what that means.

"Shawn Merriman can only rush the passer."
Yeah... AND? That is what Shawn Merriman has always been. A Pass rush specialist. He is 90% of the time the blitzing LB in a 3-4. If the author understood defenses, he would understand THAT.

"Kolb can't pass deep. Larry Fitzgerald needs a deep passer."
WHAT?! Fitz is an AMAZING reciever, but he is not a "deep threat" receiver. He is like Jerry Rice and Chris Carter. He catches short to medium passes and takes them the distance. Yes, he can catch the occasional deep ball, but it is not his game.

"Mike Williams is slow and not elusive."
POSSESSION RECEIVER. Does this author realize that not every receiver in the NFL is DeSean Jackson?

This article is pathetic and illustrates the contradicting personality of the majority of the Madden "Community" and the fact that when presented WITH realism, they can't handle it because they don't understand football.

"I WANT REALISM. I WANT THE NFL ON MY XBOX!!"
"OMG!!! RONDE BARBER CAN'T MAN UP ON ANDRE JOHNSON!! HE SUCKS!! HOW IS HE AN 85?!?!"

                              El oh el.
