My criticism was not aimed at u, but instead it was aimed more towards BoisePanther for getting on myself and others on this forum who pointed out mistakes. I think I speak for everyone on the forum when I say we're not trying to criticize the makers of the roster when we point out a mistake, but we are instead trying to help make this roster as close to perfect as we can get it. To be fair to you and everyone else who has worked hard on this roster, I will not point out any other inaccuracys I find until after every conference has been completed.

Again, no hard feelings. Thanks for everyones hard work thus far!
I got on nobody at all...it was just ironic that the 2 Miami Twins were having the same "issue."

Seems like the only person with panties in a bunch is yourself...whining and crying about 2 players you can handle on your own, but it seems to me that it's way too much work for you and all.

You pop in out of the blue and criticize the Roster File that's been being worked on for MONTHS now in people's spare time.

I'm done replying to ya, you won.

Would this not be constructive criticism? You know, the kind that is actually made to benefit the process?

It's a delicate balance. The most important thing is to get the entire roster set done, then fine tune the ratings/rotations afterward. If I had more confidence in my roster abilities I'd help more

Yes, I do believe ratings are far from what the goal of this project circumscribes, but removing/adding players is still key to the structure of this group effort. A player is on the team or isn't - this is an objective view, which is necessary. A player should be rated higher than the other player - this is subjective, which should be left to DL'er discretion and left out of the hands of the editors. The suggested changes that were brought about which had come under fire as "harsh criticism" were hardly that; these changes were based on objective thinking. Those players that were on there are not on the actual team's roster. These are necessary changes, and his reasoning as to why this does not matter is empty and void of rational thought. That is, if he truly does want to form the most accurate roster attainable.

No I agree with that, input based on players being removed from official rosters is necessary. I think the point being made earlier though, was about a conference that was already finished weeks ago needing roster tweaks that just occurred.

I understand. The least we could do to accommodate this and make sure these changes are implemented is to make a list of all necessary changes for later editing. This could either be kept on the first post or possibly recorded in a private manner by one of these forum-goers. For a few changes, though, this situation has really inflated itself into some overly-scrutinized argument that is really altogether unnecessary. We can simply make a list and move forth.

                Bingo!

This thread is getting muddy with so many different thoughts...

I propose that we use this thread to update where we stand on the roster file and to let everyone know who is currently working on it. Perhaps someone will start a new thread listing all the players that need to be changed (i.e. no longer on team, need correct number, position, height, look, rating). That would help a lot. When no one is working on the file, someone could go in and make the changes. To be honest, the daunting task is getting all the players info computed. Usually, I take someone elses completed file and make changes throught the season. I'm not very good at doing this, but since no one seemed to be doing a roster for PS3 users this year, I decided to give it a whirl. Thanks for everyone's help.

P.S. Nate & I settled our issues on a different thread. The confusion was that someone had downloaded one of our files and made some big changes. Had several freshman rated in the 90's. I think we agreed that 1st team All-American's would be the highest rated players in the game. For example, Sullinger - 89, Terrence Jones - 88, Harrison Barnes - 88, etc. What is the last credible version out there?

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.

                  Re: 2011/2012 PS3 Roster Project

I've been playing the game with the new rosters and it has been a blast. I want to thank everyone that has worked so hard on the PS3 Roster Project. Amazing job and it isn't going without notice. When I checked last night .. I think Bigdoc85's latest version had been downloaded over 500 times!

Gamzilla .. great suggestion on a new thread about changes that can be made later. I think everyone is just trying to help with what they are posting on here, but also agree that concentrating on finishing the rosters first is a good move. Then possibly take some time to look at the laundry list of suggested tweaks.

My last downloads were Sportznut's 'OS 11-12 V 2.1' and Bigdoc85's 'OS 11-12 V 2.2'. There are several new versions listed, but wanted to stay with the project file. The error of the overrated freshman Gamzilla mentioned is a concern though.

                  So my questions:

                  1. What is the last creditable OS version? Is it 'OS 11-12 V 2.2'?

                  2. What are the trusted OS usernames on the 2K Share?

Thanks again for making College Hoops 2K8 feel like a brand new game!

                    SportzNut you can 100% trust.

See, this Thread was about people taking the File, saying what Conference they would be doing, and then they would update it being on Roster share as, for example "OS '11-'12 v. 2.5 Under BoisePanther."

Instead, it's now turned into a bitch-fest the past couple of pages, going off-topic all because a guy isn't on the team anymore, or so and so has the wrong haircut.

I'm hoping it gets back to being what is was...an update of who has the Roster, who's working on what, and when they're done with it, what it's posted as (and by whom).

I have been so busy lately that I haven't even download a file since V1.7.

Is there a file floating around out there where freshman are rated in the 90's? I'm trying to put this problem to bed once and for all.

The Highest freshman I know of on the game are Anthony Davis (86/87), Austin Rivers 86, Andre Drummond (85 I believe). Don't think anyone is rated higher than that.

I havent had time to go and edit it but last night I looked it over and Andre Drummond is a 90, quinn cook is rated way higher than dawkins and curry, Rakeem Christmas is third best on cuse higher than Fab Melo, Myck Kabongo is the best on Texas, Louisvilles highest scorer (Kuric) is one of the lowest rated on the team. These are minor changes I could get on that and fix them but its not that most frosh are outrageously rated ( other than drummond) its that they are rated above the guys who are starting in real life. Hope that helps Ill let you all know if I get the time to fix anything. Overall rosters are great though I mean these were made before the season started no way anyone could have accurately guessed how good these unknown guys are.

                          Thanks Nate!

I went back and checked and someone has obviously changed Drummond. He is rated a 90 and I specifically remember rating him an 85. Anthony Davis is an 86, Austin Rivers 84, So I was trying to put Drummond right in between them at an 85. (Preseason ratings. Those 3 were considered top prospects in class.). I don't know who changed it, but good catch. I did rate Christmas higher than Melo b/c at the time Melo had been arrested and his status at 'Cuse was up in the air, plus he sucked last year. You are right tho.....he is playing much better now that he's got a 2nd chance. Averaging 6.2 pts and 5 rebs a game.

Other than that, most freshman look pretty decent. Let me know if you find anymore abnormal ones.

I agree with Dawkins & Curry needing a bump up. The preseason mags I looked at had Quinn penciled in as the starting pg, obviously that's not happening now. I agree with Kuric needing a bump. Myck Kabongo is supposed to be a stud! Most preseason mags had him listed as #1 or #2 pg in his class. He's rated an 83. Averaging 9.5 pts, 3.5 rebs, and 5.5 assists so far. What do you think he should be rated?

Do we have a set scale for judging ratings of frosh? It seems one would be helpful, although we can just as much so double this with our evaluations of the players' progression as we continue through the basketball year. I do know that a scale was helpful in editing NCAA Football rosters; I was wanting to inquire on whether this idea is compatible to the 2k roster project or if a scale has already been set and utilized.

Once again, great job and many thanks to those willing to put the time and effort into this community project.

Id say lower Myck down to like an 80 but keep his speed, o awareness, and passing up. His shooting percentage is low but he can attack and gets most his points from the line. HE shouldnt be the best on the squad cause J'covan browns averaging 26 a game. Thanks for listening though I can scan through all of it tonight and make a list of guys I notice that are off based on stats/ whose starting and what not and suggest a rating. I definitely know where your coming from though guessing these guys ratings is so hard cause they get hyped up so much, and random guys like Kuric who come out of nowhere.

                                Re: 2011/2012 PS3 Roster Project

i think we r having the same problem we had not too long ago, bc noone knows what the last roster was and what was done.

IF you have the roster please let us know who has it and what you are doing and then once you upload back on please let us know what the filename is and what you have done. I know sportznut was gonna do the roster and put it back up and then i think bigdoc was do it but i honestly dont know who has it right now.

It would be nice for everyone to stop whining too. Everyone has good ideas, but like Gam said that someone should start there own thread with changes and stuff like that. If noone starts one by monday then i will start it.

But Please if you have the roster this whole thing would go so much smoother, if you would just let us know that you have it.

Also, if you take the roster yourself and make changes that you wanted to make, such as rating freshmen higher then keep that roster too yourself and dont upload it.

THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY
