Matter of fact, I use the Bucs in an online Franchise. None of those players suck when used correctly.

WR Mike Williams: I hardly every send him on any deep routes. Unless I see press by a weak corner. I'll send him deep seeing if he can beat it. Usually slants, drags, outs. He's a fade machine also.

HB Blount: keep him inside the tackles and he's positive yards every carry and falls forward.

CB Ronder Barber: his MCV and Spd rating tell you all you need to know. I kept him in short zones. When I did that, I had success w/ him.

Knowing how these attributes translate to the game is the key.

Yeah. I don't know what this guy was thinking even mentioning Blount ... but the Williamses are accurate. I've played enough with the Bucs that I drew tired of Williams dropping passes left and right. I haven't played much with Seattle, but they seem like the same. And Barber ... you can't play Cover 2 the whole game. My buddy just takes advantage of Barber wah to much when I have to come outta the cover 2. I'm gonna try moving Barber to FS like the writer suggests. C'mon man, though, Blount?

I had a franchise using Seattle, and Mike Williams was the only bright spot offensively. Sidney Rice seemed to get injured at some point in every game, and with Williams in the slot I was at least able to keep the games competitive.

I've had more trouble w/ Benn that Williams w/ the Bucs.

As far as Ronde Barber, of course you don't stay in cover 2. Cover 3 cloud, flip him or the play so he's in the short zone. Cover 6, same thing. Any zone blitz usually has a corner in a short zone. All about knowing your team.

Same here. Benn struggles for me. He works better in the slot since I drafted a better #2 guy to go with Williams.

Williams is still my go to guy (and actually earned that role and offensive playmaker) for me after the year it was basically him and Blount as my offense.

How is Blount even anywhere near this list?

Either he can't run the ball...or he isn't using Blount correctly. I would think it's the latter, since the majority of posters here have refuted his opinion. Me included. In fact, I can confidently say that Blount is a Top 10 runningback in this game. Give him 25-30 carries and eventually he'll wear down the defense and break off a 50-60+ gain and end up somewhere in the 125- 165 yard area.

Mike Williams and LeGarette Blount both progress to 90+ over like 2 seasons. Mike just drops a few balls his first year and Blount is slow. Bad list

1st, Lagerrette Blount dominates on madden, you just have to use him right...and thats running to the right behind Trueblood (90+ RBK) and Davin Joseph (95 RBK) also putting Benn on that side helps a lot because he's one of the top Run Blocking WR's....Joseph and Trueblood always get their man and usually get up into the second level and once its just the Safety Blount goes ape ish all over them

The ratings in Madden, like or dislike, force you to play up to them.

Reggie Bush is a perimeter runner. His tackle breaking is low, his BCV is low, his carrying is low.
Therefore, he shouldn't be running between the tackles trying to find holes against guys with 80-99 tackling.

He needs to be outside running in open space where BCV isn't as important an tacklers are in the 50-79 range and he has less chance of fumbling.

This article IMO reflect the general lack of knowing football that 90% of players have.

"Ronde Barber gets beat deep and in man to man".
No crap Sherlock. He is a Cover Two corner, but it sounds like the writer of this has no idea what that means.

"Shawn Merriman can only rush the passer."
Yeah... AND? That is what Shawn Merriman has always been. A Pass rush specialist. He is 90% of the time the blitzing LB in a 3-4. If the author understood defenses, he would understand THAT.

"Kolb can't pass deep. Larry Fitzgerald needs a deep passer."
WHAT?! Fitz is an AMAZING reciever, but he is not a "deep threat" receiver. He is like Jerry Rice and Chris Carter. He catches short to medium passes and takes them the distance. Yes, he can catch the occasional deep ball, but it is not his game.

"Mike Williams is slow and not elusive."
POSSESSION RECEIVER. Does this author realize that not every receiver in the NFL is DeSean Jackson?

This article is pathetic and illustrates the contradicting personality of the majority of the Madden "Community" and the fact that when presented WITH realism, they can't handle it because they don't understand football.

"I WANT REALISM. I WANT THE NFL ON MY XBOX!!"
"OMG!!! RONDE BARBER CAN'T MAN UP ON ANDRE JOHNSON!! HE SUCKS!! HOW IS HE AN 85?!?!"

                          El oh el.
What havokeff said exactly! Please learn the game of football.
