I am enjoying the game for the most part. Most fun I've had with a WWE game in a long time, but the server issues are getting a bit ridiculous.

There is nothing like playing another human being.
Lowered momentum to slow. My cousin and I have an understanding that you don't go for a pin unless you've pulled off a finisher. Gotta keep it somewhat realistic. If we kick out then it's fair game after.
The matches we had were fantastic. Sold him on the game.

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
MW3? seriously? Well I do have that game. It's called MW1 and MW2. Every COD game after COD4 has been a messy and unimaginitive retread, unless he misses the stupid perks that make it incredibly unbalanced, the same boring maps and guns, bad servers (although WWE12 is not any better) and a 2 hour SP mode then I don't think it's that big a loss. The COD series is simply a money grab. They put out the same game every year. At least WWE 12 rehauled thier gameplay, something COD won't do for another 5 years. Maybe
Everything you just said about CoD applies to WWE 12. They only rehauld how the gameplay looks, not the actual gameplay, something they haven't really done in 12 years because it's still the same overarching system and idea.

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
lol, I just had a screwjob happen.
I was doing a tag match, and the ref randomly rang the bell and I lost by DQ. Only thing was that nobody touched the ref, no weapons were used(nobody ever stepped foot outside the ring), and my tag partner never even got involved at all(he was on the apron the whole time)Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
The gameplay in WWE 12 is leaps and bounds above last year and if you don't see that then I don't know what to tell you. This year it resembles and plays like a wrestling match, all the other years have been fighting games. That gives it much more replayability and they gave us the universe mode which most people love. It's built a good foundation, COD has no foundation except to make more money.
Sure it's not perfect and has bugs but the COD series is a complete joke and is the epitome of the wonders of marketing. People lining up to buy the exact same game except with crappier maps. MW1 is still better than any COD game than has come out since and the series has not introduced one really innovative thing offline or online unless you consider zombie mode an innovation. You can't say that about the WWE series or pretty much any other series for that matter. At least THQ is trying, the COD guys could care less. It's just rinse and repeat and the lemmings keep buying it. It boggles the mind.Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Quick question for those playing universe, could it be played as a single player?
What I mean is could I create my universe and always control only one person? I know you can do that but would it be engaging or just feel like a bunch of exhibitions?
I like the universe concept and don't like the road to wrestlemania limitations and scripts so could it be a worthy single wrestler experience?Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
It won't feel like exhibitions because how you do effects rankings and title matches and the best thing is if you leave it up to universe to book matches and you don't like what they do you can always change things so the game is safeguarded against itself to do stupid bookings. And you have the calender screen and all the big PPV events to track your wrestler. Once you win the title you will always be on the PPV's and the best thing is you can bring CAWS into universe to freshen things up anytime you want a new rival to fight, just like the real thing. It's the best of both worlds. For a wrestling game it's the best way to do a career mode because the level of customization is best suited for the WWE as opposed to something like Madden or 2K12 where you don't need the customization to feel immersed. I hope the next UFC game does the same thing as WWE 12 because the way fights are done closely resemble each other.Quick question for those playing universe, could it be played as a single player?

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Thanks.
Just wanted to see if it'd get boring. Like controlling only a single wrestler when he's booked.
I know customization is big and I might do that but if i didn't, would it be engaging like a season mode letting the AI book you in matches or not so?Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
I'm playing the same way and only controlling my CAW. So far I've feuded with Brock Lesnar and Mark Henry. I'm appearing mostly on Superstars but it's fun trying to work your way up to the big shows. The cpu is booking all of the matches and if I'm not on a show I just skip until my next fight. You can even choose to interfere in a rival's match which is cool.
If you've ever played SD2's never ending season mode it's a lot like that, only way better.Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Really? What you're doing is what I'm looking for but I just wasn't sure if it would be like a true season mode. I'd love to have rankings and the like that are not part of normal season modes.
Damn. Might have to give this a rental and see how it is. I can borrow 2011 off a mate. Would last years give me an indication or not really?
SD2 as in Smackdown 2 on PS? Is that what you meant?Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Yeah SmackDown 2 on the PS1. It had a never ending season mode which is pretty much what Universe is, plus the customization. If you use a CAW, you'll have to work your way up the rankings in order to challenge for a title.Comment

Re: WWE 12 Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Very cool. That side of it is what I'm after. A single player career kind of mode in this universe mode.
Now just please tell me I can remove a ton of wrestlers and replace them with CAWs. I did read there is a minimum limit though and you need a set amount of WWE stars on the brands?
Hope not.Comment
