    Re: **mkharsh33 - All-Conference Sliders""

    mk,

I only had a chance to play 1 game last night. I used Ohio State and played Kentucky (10-11 rosters that I downloaded last year). I lost 86-71. The computer shot 58%, including 10-18 from 3-pt range. I shot 50%, but was only 5-17 from 3-pt range. I had some trouble getting open looks as it seemed that the defense closed in too quick, even when it appeared I had an open shot or could easily drive the lane. I know UK plays pretty good pressure defense so that could have attributed to that, but I'm still thinking of maybe dropping the defensive awareness or defensive help sliders down some. The rebounds worked out pretty good. I believe that I had about 8 or 9 offensive boards and they had around the same. Defensively, we were pretty close as well, somewhere in the mid-20s I think. I was able to grab a couple of clean steals, but was called for my share of reaches as well. I might turn down the inside, mid, and 3-pt success 1 point each as well to lower shot percentages. There were a few instances were they were able to make shots with ease despite me being right on top of them.

I may try a couple more games with this set before making any changes, but those are the tweaks I'm considering at this point. Also, the game felt a little fast and out of control at times. Here we go with the speed thing again though and not knowing exactly which slider does what. I liked the animations and how the game played out, I just felt that sometimes the players were a little out of control or a bit too fast. Maybe it's just me though. I am getting older and reactions aren't what they used to be. LOL

Overall though, I was pretty pleased with the sliders as a whole. I think this is a really good base set to work with with few tweaks necessary (at least for my playing style and skills). I'll let you know what happens in my next few games and if I make any changes or not.

I got in two games with this set last night in my Indiana season see results below.

      Game one vs Kentucky.
I lost the game 79-69, i was up 10 at the half and Kentucky killed me the second half.
I shot 39% for the game while UK shot 51%. They absolutely ran me out of the gym the second half.

      Game two vs UMBC.
I won this one easily 74-51. Game was never really close i killed them inside with Zeller and Watford. Zeller ended up with 25 points and 20 reb! I shot 52% while they only shot 34%.

Two very realixtic games if you ask me.

Pretty much exactly what i was seeing. I took MK's advice though and lowered def awareness to 75 and it has created a bit more space.
Played only 1 game with the change and it played out better both teams shooting in the mid 40's per cent wise and just under for 3pters.
I am going to play a few more tonight but so far so good.

          Re: **mkharsh33 - All-Conference Sliders""

if you need more space, then go down to 65 for cpu defensive awareness.

i always look for trends which provide relatively easy fixes. you don't want to lower the cpu shooting sliders down because you'll see some REALLY BAD stuff (like jake44np noted in the two games he posted). good teams will play you tough, and bad teams can give you fits, but ultimately you should put them away.

what makes me glad to see is that we're really close on these, with a simple fix, and it won't take another 2 months of tweaking...

          appreciate the feedback, guys!

Ok, we're pretty close in a lot of areas. After 1 game last night and 5 today, what I'm currently running with is listed above out from your bolded red numbers. I only listed those that I changed. I'm not 100% satisfied, but I feel like I'm getting closer here. I had to slow the players down a bit for 2 reasons. It keeps the scores a little lower, which I like based on the 40% - 47% FG shooting I'm seeing in each game......and it keeps my hand/eye coordination a little closer to my comfort level. LOL Also, I made the speed difference at 51/48, for a little more separation, which I'm seeing more of now when there's a mismatch. I'm still tinkering with the steal/reaching foul/ball handling sliders trying to get a realistic number of clean steals, fouls, and turnovers. Unfortunately, the cpu's forced turnovers are nearly all errant passes as they rarely go for a steal.

I started my legacy with UConn last night and it was almost an exact replica of the real game. I ended up winning 74-59 and every time I started to open it up Agho on Columbia would hit a big shot. Game was closer then score indicated so I am in fear of better competition. The stats were very realistic as well with rebounds in the low 40's, assists in the teen's and steals and blocks in the single digits. I am loving this set and I cannot wait to get into Big East action in my legacy. Thanks

this is such a great game and these sliders look pretty good... i'm hoping if i plug them in tomorrow it will be like a fresh coat of paint on this great engine i've had in my garage for a while... for me the hardest part is getting the "blow-bys" that allow you to get to the rim... sure there is help defense in real life but when you get an explosive wing player attacking hard then there will be times that you get all the way in for a layup and it seems like almost every layup in this game gets contested (made or not)

I used your most recent set posted on the first page. I ended up getting beat by Wagner in my second game but I got it together in the third game and beat Maine by 10. Loving the gameplay and everything feels very real. If you are looking for a challenge these are the set to use. I am trying to start another legacy with Coastal Carolina but I cannot find a roster that is very accurate for smaller conferences on 2kshare. The closest so far has been crc30's most recent update. Do you know if CCarolina has Chris Gradnigo in raider fans roster? Still trying to get that roster with no luck. He is one of their two best players but he was a transfer and no one seems to have him on a roster. Thanks

Every now and then I get that head scratching game that causes me to enter "slider hell" and Saturday night it happened. Using a slightly modified version of the sliders that I listed in a previous post, I played about 3 games with an 11-12 roster that I downloaded from 2K Share. Things were seemingly going pretty well. I used Michigan State to defeat Minnesota by 11. I defeated Texas Tech by 18 points with Baylor, and I lost to Duke by 33 points using Long Island. I'm thinking those were pretty realistic results and the average FG% in each game for me was around 44%, while the computer shot about 47% (the Duke game skewed that a little). Anyway, game 4 rolls around and I host UCLA with Kansas State. I started the game down 15-2 and things never got any better. They beat me 85-55, while shooting 65% from the floor and 12-18 from 3-pt range. I, on the other hand, shot 30% and was 2-25 from 3-point range. It happens, so I'm going to leave my sliders where they are for time being and see what happens. Had I played this game before the other 3, I probably would have been tweaking away afterwards. Go figure.

hey Mkharsh i went back to the CPU 100 Drive tendency

I've been using the set for all my test games every time i create a New Alumni team and i like the way the CPU will use their attackers much better at 100 Drive tendency

Now the actual Player(s) Drive Tendency Rating also plays a part in that slider....

For example I tested Marquette and D.Wade has like 98 Drive Tendency rating

In the 1st half of a game i used Default 50 setting like you have it and Wade was jacking up jumpers all half....he ended taking 8 out his 9 shots from Mid Range which led to 0 FT's attempted by him.

I use the NO Switch Rule which means the man i assigned to Wade committed no fouls at all

Now in the 2nd Half I switched the Drive Tendency Slider back to 100 the way you had 1st listed it....

Wade took 7 shots in the 2nd half and ended up with 4 FT's all as a result of him getting fouled while shooting in the paint....

Now i'm guessing had the Drive Tendency Slider been at 100 the entire game Wade might have actually attempted roughly 6-8 FT's which isn't bad considering it's College Ball I try to give everyone minutes on the Alumni Rosters...

He played 22 minutes Total for the game.....

I'm going to play another test game this evening with Drive Tendency at 100 and see how it plays out for an entire game

Interesting find and I'm curious to see how this plays out after a few more games. It seems that I read something in a thread a while back that changing any of the shot and drive tendencies from default threw everything off for the game as far as teams using their star players and so forth. I look forward to reading more on your findings on this subject.

ONLY change was updating drive tendency to 100 (from PM's finding above). Again, tweak to fit your style... these are but a base set.
