Re: Where Are The Madden NFL 12 Tuner Sets and Online Franchise Roster Updates?
I would say that's a safe bet that they are working on M13 since its about a 10 month dev time for the out front portions. They have stated before that tunes are for any issues they feel requires immediate fixing (usually gameplay involved). So it is safe to say that there isn't anything gameplay related that requires immediate attention and should pull people away from next years game.Nah, I don't think we'll be seeing any tuner sets.
We have gotten two patches, but who knows if we'll see anything else. I've been personally wondering if they've internally shifted a lot of focus to M13. Maybe there is some truth to the next wave of consoles debuting late next year, and they want to make launch?
Otherwise, they've really dropped the ball on how M12 was handled post launch -- at least when you compare it to the amount of support that the inferior M11 received.
.... Just an educated guess.Comment

While I find myself playing Madden 12 more than past Madden's, I'm a little miffed about the tuner sets, and other things talked up before release.
Tuner sets are in house, and shouldn't be that hard.Comment

I hope with the two former OS employees now working for Tiburon will have a positive input on future iterations of both games. Shake things up a little. =}NFL - Dallas Cowboys, MLB - NY Yankees
NBA - Knicks, NHL - NY Rangers,

There were 4 tuners in NCAA 11 iirc. They fixed and tweaked issues like player progression in dynasty. How I understand it is patches fix fundamental bugs, tuners adjust gameplay variables. From EA's perspective there's really no "need" to release tuners since they believe the game already works how football is supposed to.Comment

It's amazing to me how the EA football teams have implemented tuner sets and then never really used them. The NCAA team only updates a tuner set with a patch so what's the point? Just put it in the patch then! Tuner sets were designed as a quick mini-patch that didn't cost EA any money to fix obvious things and they don't use it. They need to go ask the NHL team how to do this right.Comment

Well I hope after 7 years on next-gen consoles, these new developers at EA get there butts in gear. I'm still amazed at the lack of realism of this franchise on next-gen. Not saying that all sports games have there bull#£?* moments. Being the most popular sport in America, more emphasis should be in development of this game. Just now we are so called getting doubled the team on development. 7 years on next gen...pathetic. So what will EA say next year on there marketing campaign, Ohhhh we added real penalties this time or the interactions of the OL/DL is on point. No game is perfect, but EA has stroke a cord with me with there arcade style of gameplay this gen.
Presentation is no better, considering past games. We all are not kids EA, there are some that have been around since the atari days. Really, u have your BLITZ game now, u can concentrate on MADDEN being a simulation and true representation of the NFL, not just logos and players. It's gotten better over the years, but way way past due for this gen.

This crap will go on and on until we as consumers stop buying their product. They don't care, haven't for a while now. Yet we buy because we need some football! EA's bottom line must suffer, and we are the only ones capable of inflicting the kind of financial damage it takes for companys like EA to open their eyes. Skip a year and wright this listing ship that is EA football, 'cause I will not be buying next year anyway.Comment

There is a lot of truth to this. If we hadn't bought Madden 06-09 (those were aweful games) on 360/ps3 we would have a much better product now, and possibly a non exclusive license deal to go with it. If Madden knows one thing though, it is how to market and get people to believe the game has improved and to invest. While I don't agree with that tactic, it sells them copies while spending very very little to improve their game.Comment

Re: Where Are The Madden NFL 12 Tuner Sets and Online Franchise Roster Updates?
So they basically lied, at least thus far, about M12 having tuner sets. It's one thing to implement a feature and not have it work as advertised, which Tiburon has done more often than not, but to not have the feature at all ,when tuner sets was one of the first two features announced, is inexcusable; it's also shows that EA just doesn't care.
Yeah, I'd like to see the apologists come the EA's aid on this one. This is a blatant lie; it's not subject to anyone's interpretation. It's a bold face lie !Last edited by BlackJackRabbit; 11-30-2011, 11:47 AM.Comment

Exactly! All these years into next gen and we are still being subjected to this mess of a game, instead of a polished product. Here is hoping for the NFL License being reintroduced to multiple development teams and studios! #competitionSo they basically lied, at least thus far, about M12 having tuner sets. Re: Where Are The Madden NFL 12 Tuner Sets and Online Franchise Roster Updates?
I find this to be a very compelling question and even started a thread on a similar topic back in September.
I really hope this trend ends for M13 where seemingly obvious issues from the year(s) before, go unresolved. M12 is not a bad game but I don't understand how from the time the game goes gold until release day, there isn't some dedicated group at EA assigned to play the ish out of every mode. Even more baffling is that from release day to the next edition goes gold, there seems to be no similar group to play current Madden to find issues and prevent them from being repeated.
Tuner sets or not, they can only address certain things with them and I think those things are a matter of opinion. Until tuner sets are optional, I think it's better not to force them on online players. I realize some people feel like EA "lied" but I don't think it's that egregious. If they released a tuner set and it caused different issues for currently content people, then they would be upset with EA for that. Tuner sets are a Catch 22 until they become fully optional, imo.Comment
