The other thread is dead, so I thought might as well start another one up for this year, so feel free to leave your trades for comments!

Re: Official 2K12 Rate My Trade

In my association, Danny Granger wants out of Indiana. I'm the Bobcats. We're sitting at 12-11 in December and I think we have a chance at making a push. Is the following trade fair?

Get: Danny Granger, James Posey, Jeff Foster
Give: Garrett Temple, Corey Maggette, Boris Diaw and '12 first round draft pick.

Is the trade fair or should I insert Bismack Biyombo for Diaw to make it more fair?

Basicly the only things of any value to the Pacers in that deal is the pick, and Diaw's expiring contract, however, Maggettes contract is awful and Temple will never see the floor in Indy due to their dept at the SG position. From a realistic prospective, Indy knows they can get more for their franchise player then a deal where they lose their star, for a 1st and an expiring, a horrible contract, and a scrub

All that being said, maybe what you should look to do is find a third team to deal with to make the deal more realistic. Maybe a team that could use Diaw, and maybe pick between DJ or Kemba and trade the other one to the Pacers, or the third team in the deal. Unless the Pacers roster has changed much in your association you will probably have to look to trade DJ somewhere else, because the Pacers have two great PGs.

*Great thread! The other one was great but has died lol

Just for fun, and possible association ideas, with all that has been in the news lately, what are some scenarios you guys can come up with on where CP3 and Dwight Howard will be dealt before the trade deadline? This should be fun!

Lets get this thread going strong, leave all thoughts and feedback!

I traded the 1st round draft pick, Bismack Biyombo and Corey Maggette for Granger and Jason Kapono (they got him from the 76ers). Hopefully Granger will take over the lead scorer role

2012 1st or the 2013 1st? I feel like thats a tough deal if you let the 2012 first go because the 2012 draft class is loaded if most of the talent enters the draft. Basicly we could keep Bismack, struggle through Maggette, and then draft a Harrison Barnes, Terrence Jones, Anthony Davis, etc. I feel like a move like yours, Charlotte would almost become a win now team, with a crappy low post, an unproven back court, and one star in Granger. Thats the recipe for mediocrity which is where we are trying to get away from.

Just my feed back on that trade if you are trying to make it realistic. In 2k12 that is a great trade because Granger is a beast. I can score with DJ at will too so that makes for a pretty good offensive team despite the fact that it would struggle in real life.

I traded the 2012 first. To each their own. I didn't really feel like struggling through the rebuilding process with piece that I didn't know would fall into place. My plan is to drop Diaw once his salary expires and get a good low post scorer (Hopefully Dwight Howard) in the free agent market with the cap room I'll get.

Point well made. That is the beauty of association mode. You can take it anywhere you want to and watch how it plays out. Honestly if you were 12-11 that would probably not yield a top 5 pick in the draft anyway especially if you hit a hot streak. I am guessing there are a lot of teams doing worse at this point?

Once the official rookies come out, I am going to start an association with my Bobcats too. Depending on what happens in real life, I may look to move DJ, and Carrol as a package. This will eliminate the stupid player option Carrol had. I am hoping Jordan cuts Diop in real life, so that cap space will be free. Then I may try to build around a core of Kemba-Henderson-Maggette(move if possible, or ride out his contract, and cut him)-Thomas-Brown. Basicly accepting the fact that every player in that lineup is backup with the exception of Kemba and maybe Henderson. I will definitely look at improving every chance I get, but am willing to ride out the tough year allowing Kemba to grow. I should also have some solid cap space in the free agent period in the Summer to make some big moves too.

Just my angle lol. Let me know what you think if you have any feed back on this. Maybe who I could gain from a DJ Augistine deal or something

I would try to move Augustin to a team that needs a PG or a sixth man that will score coming right off the bench. I'm thinking some possible traders would be the Jazz or the Hornets. The Hornets could look enticing since Chris Paul is pretty much guaranteed to declare for Free Agency. If you can get a 1st round draft pick for 2013, it can become a possible Top 10.

The Jazz is also interesting because they have a plethora of low post scorers, which I think the Bobcats can use (unless Tyrus Thomas lives up to his pick).

Good trade for a video game. But in real life with a beasty draft class next year the Cats should keep their 1st rounders and try to get more. But in game great. Granger can sh ill it up

Re: Official 2K12 Rate My Trade

Ironically I have a Bobcats association, so about 3 years in I have the 5th pick.

I forgot who I traded (I'd like to say the Wizards) I traded them my 5th pick and Tyrus Thomas for their 4th pick. The Wizards were lacking at the Power Forward position and me personally I had scouted this guy all season and he had the mixture of offensive acumen as well as decent Potential that I wanted. Mind you I spent many development drills on Tyrus Thomas so he was a fantastic defensive player as well as having good offensive game both post and range.

                        Opinions?

It's interesting that you traded up 1 pick. What position was he? Were you sure the Wizards would take him?

Alright so here is another interesting story line I want you guys to consider. I know CP3 is going to NY this summer, but it may be that he ends up somewhere else this year due to the lack of tradeable assets that the Knicks have. So why not make a move for Steve Nash to reunite Nash and D'antonie(spelling?) Think about Nash, Melo, and Stat. That would be a big move in my opinion.

Nash for Billups, Douglas?, Billups and a pick?

                            Any thoughts?

Ohhh damn I forgot to mention I drafted a Power Forward (I know redundant but guy was athletic with a great starting post game and the fact he dropped so low I knew the Wizards would take him but I deserved him more! This was all using Cswapp's draft class btw which are all stellar).

The Wizards drafted a shooting guard to pair with John Wall with that pick so out worked our well for all of us. I just needed that Power Forward so badly @_@.
