Hope not.

You need to have a minimum of 15 non-CAW wrestlers on any active brand you want to use but if your intention is to go retro with 80's and 90's wrestlers then there are enough legends and current guys who wrestled back then (like Nash and HBK) in the game that even using 15 in the game with the rest being your CAWS will still resemble the old days. Any guys you don't want to use you just transfer to a brand (like NXT) that you don't activate and you should be good.

I know you shouldn't have to do this, it should just work, but I've been having decent success getting into the servers if I go on at a weird time. I downloaded a couple CAWs and arenas last night at like 1 in the morning.

Don't worry, we were all newbs at one point haha. I have had some luck the last two nights around 3AM getting on the server to download these guys. Once they're downloaded they will already be in your universe. It's just a matter of editing each brand (in the universe mode) to have the guys where you want them.

Yeah it looks like the best time to DL is after midnight. Last night I DL about 15 CAWS. It would connect usually every 2nd attempt and I would be able to DL 2 or 3 wrestlers or scroll about 3 or 4 pages at any one time before it booted me out. If you tried to do a search on anything you would never connect. I was able to do a search once around 2 AM.

When you get on just try and press as little buttons as possible. If you see a DL that looks decent then just DL don't bother looking at reviews or creator content.

Pros:
- 1v1 AI is much improved. Game is much more challenging.
- Universe mode is very busy. A lot of cutscenes.
- I'm one of the few people who enjoyed RTWM.
- I like the controls
- Match flow is very well done and AI simulation matches are very entertaining for nerds like me who like to do that.
- Load times are improved.

Cons:
- Still plenty AI brain farts. Tag/triple threat AI still needs some work. The move interruption isn't dealt with very well by the AI. They interrupt anything and everything. AI interference is buggy/arguably broken
- Universe mode lacks storyline continuity for some scenarios.
- Universe still has some design problems that require you to babysit the mode and correct the mistakes.
- Injuries lead to storyline wackiness.
- Don't like the button mashing submission system.
- RTWM free roam times are kind of pointless.

Finally got mines on tuesday. i been playing on ps3 since launch though. game is amazing.

easily the best wrestling game ever made to date. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!

Not selling The People's Edition in stores was stupid.

By the time I found out it wasn't available in stores, it was the Monday before the game came out. I didn't feel like waiting, so I just bought the normal one.

But had that been available in the store, I would've happily handed over the extra cash for it.

^Ya, no peoples edition in stores was a waste. I would have bought it(i know it cost more too) if it was in stores.

Why would WWE want THQ to sell the peoples edition online when many of the people who'll be buying these wwe games will be younger people who'll just go to the stores and not preorder online. WWE12 did get more preorders than any other WWE game, but I doubt many of it was "little jimmies" lol.

Like this game alot but winning online is all about utilizing the reversal mechanic correctly and the window of performing it online is somewhat laggy/unresponsive. It gets to the point that the 1st person to get knocked down is more likely to come out a loser as the onslaught ensues. Targeting opponents is awkward as well as characters often punch/stomp the ground when their opp is already standing. Still learning the ropes.......

Who thought this new version of Road To WrestleMania was a good idea? Seriously.....

However, the rest of the game seems to be pretty good so far. A nice step up from the past SmackDown games now that the AI is better.

One thing they're missing though is those moments where both wrestlers are slow to get up. I think SvR 06 or 07 had a mini-game like this. On that same note, I wish moves were sold a little better. If I hit you with steel steps, that shouldn't make you get up faster. It could be that I need to change sliders though.

i agree. i wanna find out which attribute or slider i need to lower to get people to stay down longer.

EDIT: just found out it is the Recovery attribute. im gonna lower everybody by 20 and see how that goes.
