First Pick In A Fantasy Draft - Who Do You Choose?

Let's pass some time until the patch by having a discussion, shall we?

Take note, this is for NBA 2k12 only, please don't use real life situations for this. Think about in game.

You got the first pick in an NBA Fantasy Draft, who do you choose?

    Lebron James?
    Dwight Howard?
    CP3?
    Wade?
    Kobe?
    Durant?
    Rose?
    etc..

who would you base your team around? And Why?

i'd say D-Wade, he gets to the basket and finishes, his perimeter d is top notch and his mid range game is better than Rose's, but I also really like Carmelo, his in-game jumper release is for some reason the most intuitive for me, for that same reason i wouldn't go Durant, idk why but I miss really weird, wide open mid-range jumpers with KD... nevermind I know why, I'm terrible at this game so far, I waited till black friday to get it

The computer will always pick Lebron with the sexy 98 overall ,but I'm a Point Guard and like playin with D Rose so gotta go with him. Love his jumpshot and he's got great range. He's a good slasher and I love gettin the contact dunks.

There are a lot of great point guards with more good ones coming in the draft every year. There is only one great center so I would have to go that route. At no position is the gap between the best and second best player wider than Howard to whoever is number 2 at center.

If I was picking without pure logic I'd take Blake. That guy is going to be Karl Malone with hops for years to come.

But it sure would be hard to pass on Lebron....

            Dwight.

PG - about 10 to choose from
SG - about 8 to choose from
SF - about 7 to choose from
PF - about 8 to choose from
C - about 2 to choose from, and option 2 is a long shot.

Who on earth would be in all of those slots? With the FIRST pick overall, you have that many people in mind?

                PG- Derrick Rose
                All Around- LeBron James
                C- Dwight Howard

Can't go wrong with either of them. All are young and extremely talented.

KD. He is already locked up for 5 years. On top of that he is right there with Melo, as the most dangerous offensive weapons in the game.

I say Lebron because depending how you play, he could play a variety of different positions for your team...most players can only fill 2 spots on the floor while he can potentially play 4

James or Howard...though Rose or Paul or DWill would all be fine picks.

                          Based off this game?

                          Kevin Durant.

That man has more simmed MVP awards and scoring titles that I can count.

                          And youth.

Re: First Pick In A Fantasy Draft - Who Do You Choose?

So I decided to actually sim a fantasy draft and a season to see what my roster/season would look like.

Interesting thing happened...I was able to participate in the draft until round 8, when the player pool was empty and I was forced to sim the rest of the draft. Every team ended with only 7-8 players on each team, and I could not edit my rotation because I did not have enough players, yet there were no free agents to sign.

Anyways, based off of the sim of that season, here's the result:
                            C - David Lee
                            PF - Taj Gibson
                            SF - Kevin Durant
                            SG - Stephen Jackson
                            PG - Jason Kidd

                            Bench:
                            -Darrell Arthur
                            -Randy Foye
                            -Jason Collins

Durant led the league with PPG @ 33.8.
Kidd led the league in assists with 14.2.
                            Jackson averaged 25 PPG.

                            Durant was MVP.

A legit, 12 person sim will (hopefully) be edited into this post.

completely agree, lebron is still young and can do anything on the court. if you're planning on doing a few seasons he will be able to shoot from anywhere and dominate anyone on offense and defense.
plus you wont need to waste a pick later on with a back up pg or sf because he can play lots of minutes at any position.

i wouldnt pick Dwight Howard because you need a good pg to make him affective, (feed the beast)
