Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
My avatar is a Photoshopped version of The Show with color corrections.
Here's the direct comparison:
(apparently I missed that "TIGERS" was orange, though... maybe I just used an outdated photo of Comerica)
Of course, this is the case with all fields. Therefore, this is a general concern, not actually stadium-specific. That's up to them to do actual color changes. My water color change for AT&T Park, however, actually happened to be specifically tied into night games.
As long as we're in the "upgrades" thread, if this still isn't too late to look into, it would be greatly appreciated that these color palette corrections are considered, alongside the ones that were already mentioned by other posters in this thread.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
O my god!!
Sony please give Blzer a job at Sony now!!!
Those Photo Shopped versions look so much better!!
Why o why would Sony not want to make these changes in the game?
The color and contrast make Blzer's version so much better looking!
Just looks at the lush dark green grass and the water is actually blueAttached FilesLast edited by tnixen; 12-09-2011, 05:39 PM.Comment

Fireworks after Home wins at US Cellular! Please!
Also is it possible to shoot off the fireworks immediately after the game rather than at the menu screen when nobody is left in the park?
Also the LCD banner board on the fan deck:

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
Still hope that Miller Park's batter's eye gets fixed. There used to be a lighter colored railing directly in the batter's eye. They removed it last year, as well as painted everything black, to eliminate the glare, making it one of the most hitter friendly batter's eyes in baseball. In the 2nd photo you can see where they cut the railing.

Haha no problems here, it was just a little joke.
So, I know somebody had requested that I put up my other stadium comparisons I've made for color corrections/adjustments, so here they are. Some of them I'm not as proud of in terms of my own doing, but it really shows the flavor that the game is missing from the real colors (NOTE: I do understand it looks different on our own television screens when playing, but the corrections are the important thing, not the faults of the game itself). The Comerica Park and Chase Field changes are my personal favorites; it is a nice contrast to the real life park that could really, really add to this game's look.

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
I would love to see Progressive field get fixed this year. I hope someone can post some pics because I can't right now, but I will list a few thing that need added/fixed.
The wall color is too light. It needs to be a darker green.
The Batters Eye Bar in right center is still missing.
Monument park is still missing.
Just wanted to throw that in there.Comment

I really like your work Blzer but from the screenshots (Angel stadium for example) the colours still look the same"When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
Blzer's version looks vibrant and much less washed out but isn't there any restriction on the kind of color palette you can use for this sort of thing? Am just wondering maybe the devs need to work under some limitations that people aren't aware of... (I'm just saying because in my old and rotting brain I can only use 16 colors in video games....)Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
EDIT: Nevermind, I see what you're saying. You meant the new screenshots from Facebook indicate that SCEA perhaps hadn't altered the colors. I thought you were saying that a side-by-side screenshot comparison of both works doesn't really show a change in the colors.
For reference, I used specific photos to obtain these colors for the stadiums. They might not have been the best photos to use (and again, I might not have done the absolute best job that I could have), but here they were:
The link I used to the Giants image no longer works, so the one I'm using now is another reputable, comparable image that would give me the accuracy I had for that particular Photoshop work that I did... though it's unfortunately really, really small. And again, I missed the orange "TIGERS" lettering above the scoreboard. That was my bad.
One problem is that I can't ever replicate the grass perfectly, because the game and real life obviously won't have the patterns/contrasting dark areas down pat. However, I think they might be able to work on how spotty and imperfect the grass patterns are. If you look at real life, it's actually not as roughed up as they make it (sure there will be issues here and there, but the game really wears the look down to all of the messiness a field might get over time). I definitely know that AT&T Park doesn't start looking that bad, and they don't really have any patterns on their field (as you can see in the picture), so it pretty much just comes out as a solid green, for the most part.Last edited by Blzer; 12-10-2011, 12:59 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
