This is not the Kevin Smith movie. His movie is called "Hit Somebody."

Looks like Kevin Smith was beaten to the punch by Hollywood.

SWS was supposed to be in "Hit Somebody" but he chose Goon instead.
Smith was pretty ticked off about it, but what are you gonna do?

I'll watch this film. Looks like a decent rental.

Alright, I watched this movie earlier this week (it's on Netflix instant stream for those interested). I did not know that it was based on a book by former enforcer-type Doug Smith going in.

This was all kinds of mediocre. There were definitely some funny and redeeming things about this movie (Jay Baruchel's character had me cracking up a lot), and at least the extras can skate. Georges Laraque even makes a cameo. But overall it was just - meh.

Be sure to stick around for the end credits so you can see some of Doug Smith's "skills" on display.

This was provoked by a Rangers fan who slapped Stan Jonathan hard enough with a rolled-up program to draw blood, and subsequently stole Jonathan's stick. Mike Milbury infamously beat a fan with the fan's own shoe.

Didn't bother finishing it. The acting was so putrid through and through. Was not enough to keep me interested throughout and waste my time.

I wasn't expecting anything and knew it was a short movie, so I soldiered through. It was tough since the ending of the movie was painfully obvious and all the funny/interesting things occurred in the first half of the movie.

Honestly, I thought it was pretty good. I laughed out loud quite a bit during the film.
In my opinion, if you're a hockey fan, it's a solid rental.

I hear they're making Goon 2. I'll definitely rent that as well.
