How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
ok look...i see this so often on this forum and i dont get it, for exmple if i give myself more speed and lower the cpu,s to make the game "fair". how is that not cheating? everyone who does this to my understanding does it to make the game more enjoyable but your always having fun when winning or being succesful. Dont get me wrong theres like a million things i hate about this game but i dont touch sliders for any modes because i want to beat the game on its own terms.Tags: None -
Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
I understand your point, I really do. Just remember that a lot of us edit sliders to make the game more realistic, not really easier. I understand if you think those two things are the same and on the surface I would agree. But again, I understand where you are coming from but I don't think it is as simple as saying that it is cheating since we are editing the CPU's abilities.
And also, some of us edit sliders and still lose. So the whole idea of, "Editing sliders = Winning" isn't always accurate. -
I'm sure there are some who use sliders to gain an advantage, but the majority of the sliders sets posted give the game a more realistic feel and by no means makes the game easier. In a lot of cases the sliders make the game harder because you can't abuse certain "cheese" aspects of the game after slider adjustments.Comment

Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
I'm looking for more realistic play, Im 24-17 in my association and when I lose I feel I deserved it not because chris paul is grabbing rebounds over 3 of my guys in the paint or CPU is stroking shots late in the shot clock because the clutch factor is out of wack...The game out the box IS NOT perfect, it does need adjustments.chuckcross.bandcamp.com

I consider constant contested swishes with 1 second on the shotclock cheating....so I have no issues counteracting that....Comment

Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
The CPU cheats. I don't try to use sliders to make myself better, I try to prevent the CPU from cheating. It doesn't always work, though.
Anyway, you're cheating yourself the moment you play a video game. It's not real life.My Specs:

Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
Adjusting sliders isn't cheating..
If you really want to play a fair game put all the sliders to zero then everything will go off the player's ability.
Depending on the difficulty the game is already programed to cheat; whether its spd, shooting, sliding, morphing, and my favorite canimations.
If the game is programmed faulty adjusting the sliders to correct the faults.True bout my business, Mane!Comment

(plus, some people like me raise the CPU's slider and lower the user's slider on some things)Comment

Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
Sliders aren't all about making things easier, it's about tweaking the game so that you can get a better more realistic experience. For example, is All Star too hard for you, but when you play on Pro you know sink 3 pointers all day. Well, you can bump you 3's success down a couple of notches to even things out. That hardly cheating in my opinion. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: How is Editing sliders not cheating??????
i use custom sliders in pretty much every sports game. i use them to avoid BS and the completely unrealistic stupid things the CPU does. like drain fadeaway 3's with 2 guys in their face just because its the last minute of the game. or Rondo jumping over dwight for a rebound. or a center keeping up with my PG in the fastbreak because every CPU player runs like usain bolt. with my sliders in my OKC association i am 10-5 currently. if i used custom sliders to cheat and win evey game, then wouldnt i be 15-0? if i wanted to win every game then i would put it on rookie(or whatever the lowest difficulty is called) rather than use custom sliders based on superstar difficulty.Comment
