Re: Next NHL 12 Patch Arrives in January, Details Included
How about you fix ALL jerseys. Make the Penguins gold color right, make ALL logos on jerseys bigger, WAY bigger, fix the penalties, custom music issue FROM LAST YEAR...yes lingering issues from LAST YEAR ARE STILL HERE!!!
**** this, I'm not getting NHL 13 on release day now, enough is enough. MLB 12 The Show will probably last me long enough, this is just getting ridiculous now.Comment

Penalty issue (or should I say LACK OF PENALTIES) needs fixed EA... How about doing that instead of a couple of jersey numbers on a helmet and a few shades of color changed on a few jerseys??? BTW, in EASHL have you seen the logos on sweaters that look like they are straight from the Atari 2600??? I can live with that if you fix the friggin PENALTY ISSUE!!!
If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product. Take a stand, it is your money!!!.Comment

I think this baby is officially going to GameStop... Funny, but we here (who are passionate about this game) will get blamed somehow - either for not being nice enough or not knowing what we're talking about.
I wish I didn't love hockey so much, as this game will be hard to trade in...but I think it's time, and that probably does it for EA hockey for me. I barely played this game much outside of 'play now' games - never even started a BAGM, so it's a moot point for me.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Yeah gotta say I'm disappointed this second patch seems pretty light on fixes.
When I clicked on this thread, I was really hoping to read about fixes to....cpu pass accuracy, penalties, pass reception ease. Imo...just these few things could have made a very nice difference in how the game plays.
I'm still enjoying this years game very much. But dang...with how few and far between patches are for NHL, I hate to see seemingly well documented issues go unresolved. It is pretty tempting to believe the single player crowd's voice, wasn't heard all that well.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

Re: Next NHL 12 Patch Arrives in January, Details Included
A lot of my same sentiment is echoed in this thread.
I am entering my mid 30's, and have literally bought every EA NHL game that has ever existed. Year in and year out, no matter what system I was currently playing, or if I was "into" games at that point of my life- I ALWAYS purchased NHL Hockey by EA sports. I love hockey, and it was just something I always blindly purchased, and overall it has been more good than bad, in my expierience. I don't need it to mimic the real NHL down to the smallest scale- just give me a game that is fun to play, and is detail oriented.
However, the shine has worn off. I am not saying 12' is a bad game. Its not, I actually find it quite fun(offline, I despise online nowadays). I do see a smaller and smaller effort being put forth on a yearly basis though, and problems not being addressed, and an overall lack of wanting to actually make it a better game, and instead just adding things that don't address core gameplay, and depth, and some that seem to be just absolute cash grabs.
I also feel like the developers are just completely ignoring a very dedicated community, and not hearing they want out of a game(unlike SCEA's MLB team, who do a superb job). In this day and age, thats just unacceptable.
I used to scoff at people who would "boycott" videogame franchises and developers. It just seemed really useless. Now I understand that if I am not part of the solution, I am part of the problem. By just giving EA my 50.00 and 60.00 a year, and just accepting the game and effort put forth, they will never change, or address whats truly wrong with the game. So for the first time in my life, I will not be purchasing an EA Sports NHL game in 2012. Unless I hear a month or two after release that its a solid effort, I will be playing MLB 2012. I love hockey, but I will just stick with this years game for my fix, until something comes along worth buying.Comment

Re: Next NHL 12 Patch Arrives in January, Details Included
Well, maybe as a community we should start something where we make a list of issues (that we all or majority agree on), so that for next year we can either cross it off OR leave it on there with the number of the year the problem first cropped up. For instance:
Lack of penalties ('12)
This isn't so much for EA to look at it, rather it's for the community to see what EA has done/fixed for each iteration. This will help our community stay informed with a nice easy-to-read list when the new game comes out next year. Those who buy the game can help by telling us which things are fixed, which ones are not, and the new problems that come up.Comment

The community asked for goalie fatigue; we get goalie fights.
Community asked for more realistic gameplay; we get breaking glass.
Community wants more/realistic penalties, we get numbers on helmet fronts.
Yeah, EA listens.

Sounds like a LOT of people are upset and planning to boycott next years version because some very obvious issues to the most important area of the game- the gameplay- are not being addressed.
Add me to the list. I will not be buying NHL 13, I swear it.Comment

+1 ... and I'm sticking to my promise. No more getting duped by EA for me. haven't touched this game in weeks, and sadly, I don't miss it. I've found renewed interest in the current NBA and have sunk my time into current 2011-2012 rosters for NBA 2K11. Madden is just as disappointing and I might just pass on all EA titles, including NCAA football (which is collecting dust too).
I'm happy for those who enjoy this game...but I just can't.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

They are now... Set your penalty sliders all the way up... I went from getting 0-1 PP's per game per team combined, to now since the patch, 4-9 PP's a game combined... I play 10 minute, All-star, Hardcore settings with adjustments to the penalty sliders and puck reception ease only... Have had zero issues since the patch...If you keep bowing down and praising the developers, (NHL series) nothing they give us the consumer will ever be a "finished" product.
